Why , having decided we're not interested in religion , do I see multiple daily religious related posts ? Why not just get over it ?

Some folks are still working thru. Some want to rant. Some are fearful. Some are..........

Many people came to be Agnostic or Atheist because they actually spent time reading Bibles and their minds were open to the total hypocrisy and hatred they found there. They are often still flabbergasted that they, for whatever periods of time, believed and worshipped something so profoundly flawed. They are seeking answers to why and comparing notes with other who may have experienced the same revelation. Perhaps you should join groups that discuss things you find more interesting. There are groups on here to please most every palate I think. From Conservatives to Horndogs! LOL

For lots of people this is the only place to talk about it, especially so for some southern people I know only a handful of atheists in daily life

There's this awesome thing about sites like this.... if you don't like it scroll past instead of whining about it.

Some people may still be working it out of their brain. Try not to be an obstacle for them with your self absorbed whining and entitlement k?

@atog1to8 yeah I've noticed

Probably because most of those posts come from people in the US where religious persecution seem to be very much alive. I have never come across it in any other country I have traveled to, not even Islamic countries. People there seem to be really suffering from it.

This site was designed for talking about that stuff. I guess getting over it would include getting over this site... or at least getting over the fact that this site was made for people to talk about getting over religion, so they will always be here.

Great question, there does seem to be a lot of “ preaching to the choir” here. But there is always some interest it what is going on in the religion world. I view religion as the original pandemic.

No longer believing in a deity does not mean you have no interest in religion. Having once been deeply into religion I can see plainly today that there is no evidence for gods. The non-believers that I identify with the least are those who have never had a faith because lots of them still believe in woo. Many things are possible and many things just not proven so far. Woo is not in that list.

When I post something about religion or religious, it's to point out what they are doing or saying.

I think agnostic.com avoids religion better than most non believers forums

Your question is predicated on a false assumption.
Being a non-theist does not mean we have no interest in religion. We are all surrounded by theists and to a significant extent they influence public policy. Because of this it is in our best interests to pay attention to what they are doing and how it affects us. To ignore them is to surrender and accept their dominance.

Ra'men! When they stay out of our lawmaking and gov I'll quit paying attention.

I guess it’s like psychiatry in a sense. Makes some feel better to talk about it and talk about past experience(s).

After all it took me nine years after quitting the Sunday mass brainwashing to declare myself a non believer / Atheist.
