Anyone watch the James Comey interview? What did you think? Bombshell it was not. Just the same thing we already know. I think it was pushing his new book. All hype and not much substance.

Yes, he handed Trump the election. Days before the vote he said the FBI was reopening the Clinton email investigation and then said there was no indication of criminal activity BUT he chose to state that Clinton had been horrendously careless. He chose to not open up the investigation of Trump collusion with the Russians until after the election. The information was available prior to the election. Comey handed the Orange Troll the key to white House.

Didn't see it live. Watching MSNBC all day so I'm picking up bits and pieces. Trumpty Dumpty wouldn't take questions this am - why is he going to Florida on a Monday anyways?

Comey hurt his cause and credibility by delving into Trump's appearance. He is however, much more credible than Trump. I know salacious details sell books but here they undermine the stature of the former FBI director.

I fell asleep watching it. Like the Stormy Daniels interviews, it didn't live up to the hype

You are correct, it did not live up to the hype. Most things don't.
The ONLY thing that I think will are the findings of Mueller's investigation.
What I did find interesting is that Comey thought of 45's demands for loyalty
are reminiscent of the Mob's similar tactics. I've always contended that the
Mueller investigation is being conducted in the same manner as has been done
in mob investigations. Some of those took years to complete. However, it's been a very rare occasion when the subject(s) were found not-guilty. They even nailed John Gotti, who was supposed to be the "Teflon Don". That scumbag died in prison. Which is exactly where I want to see 45, and his merry band of asshats, wind up for the rest of their unnatural lives.

@KKGator interesting. Also gives me some hope my dream will come true, they drag Trump's ass out of the Whitehouse in cuffs. He is familiar with the mob

Agreed...I was deeply disturbed over his handling/timing of Clinton's email investigation. However, he seems to be on point about Trump.

I did not watch it...waiting to see him on Colbert Tuesday.

Thanks for the heads up

@Rudy1962 my pleasure..

I did not get to watch it, but this morning read the transcript and watched clips of the interview. I personally think he came off as truthful with great concern for our nation. I also have the fear of a national division of views in this country and hope each day that trump will be removed from office before he gets us in a nuclear war.

I didn't watch it but I did see a few clips. I think Comey is trying to sell his book. When he tells us that Trump is morally unfit to be president he says nothing that others did not already know. Being against impeachment and saying the way of getting Trump out is to vote him out is actually something in Trump's favor. It stands out to me that at the last minute in the campaign Comey once again brought up that there just might be something to Hillary's e-mails after all. At the time I thought WTF? Now it comes across that Comey was simply doing what he was told to do in a move to preserve his job. Later he was fired anyway and decided to write his book.

Yes, I think he was a terrible Director of the FBI. The people who worked there liked him, but that's not the test. It's competence in the job, and keeping a low profile and acting honourably, if that's possible. He failed these. He should look in the mirror. I agree with you that he hasnt said anything about Trump that any sensible informed person didn't know in 2016, at least on character.

I did watch, and don't feel like I heard anything I didn't already know.
I think he didn't help his case by repeating his personal critiques of 45's appearance. I'm sure
that was specifically included to sell the book. Which is also the nature of our society, as much as
many of us would like to claim otherwise.
However, I do believe he has FAR more credibility than 45 does.
Given that we all know 45 is a pathological liar, and given that we've all heard his statements and read his tweets, I absolutely believe Comey's accounts of meetings they had.
At the very least, 45 is guilty of Obstruction of Justice. His own words prove that.

I too watched clips. Comey is a slimball too. He should have never brought up the Clinton email crap days before the election. I voted for Clinton but did not campaign for her. I supported Sanders. Clinton was simply the far lesser of two evils. Clinton used her money and influence to buy her place on the ticket over Sanders. That said, I doubt Sanders, an old Jewish indepenent socialist, would have won against Trump. Sanders was probably the only candidate in either primary without any blemish on his record. He's not rich enough to have been bought. I recall a list of the net worth of each candidate and Sander's came to less than $800,000 including the house and car. When people whose entire career has been in politics have amassed millions, like the Clintons, I think it safe to assume they are slimeballs.

@Morganfreeman I have no idea what you just said.🙂

No, it was not a bombshell. But, that is not the point, at all! What it does show is what a crrooked, duplicitious, lying, morally bankrupt cretin Trump is, We have known that, but Comey makes the pattern abundantly clear. That IS important!

Yes, I am glad Comey came out with more on Trump. Just saying Comey is no saint. Days before the presidential election, he again brought up the Clinton emails, then announced there was nothing worthy of further investigation and then slurred her by saying she had been horribly careless. The FBI rarely, if ever, makes politically charged statements like that and never days before an election. More than any other individual, including Russian intervention, Comey handed Trump the election. How does he sleep at night?

@SynergySeeker Yes, he made a mistake in how handled the Hillary e=mail issue. But Both the Russians and Hillary's inept campaigning deserve much more of the blame for her loss. I am still angry with Hillary for her lack of righteous zeal and stupid campaign decisions.

1

Everyone who has listened to Trump knows that he is a serial liar. That doesn't give an FBI official a right to speculate about unproven assertions like the golden shower. He should have learned to this as a young agent.

Comey did not speculate about the golden shower. In response to a direct question, he said it's possible, but that he did not know.

2

I didn't watch it, and had no interest in watching it I've seen a few clips. I agree with what someone else says that he's just pushing his book. Nothing wrong with that, everyone does it. I really haven't had anything good to say about the guy since he handed the election to the orange troll.

@jorj Lol, you are deep into the Fox news aren't you.. Very little of it was classified, and what was classified was not done in a way that could have been prosecuted. But you go on with the Fox Eeeviil Clinton crowd. Good luck. I'm done, Lol..

Comey's got a bit of school principal complex, thinks he's above it all with a touch of a Christian moral superiority complex thrown in. I don't think he's a bad guy, in fact he seems pretty straight, but he's got terrible judgement, first that Hillary thing during the election which was appalling, and now he admits that maybe he took into account that she was going to get elected. Any bloody fool knows a public servant doesn't announce stuff like that during an election. I think he really wanted to remain the head of the FBI, knew that Hillary would replace him, so he wedged her thinking Trump might keep him on. In the end he shot himself in both feet and helped to get the worst sociopath ever elected to the White House. I just read his wife and daughters all voted for Hillary and were surely pissed when she lost. I wonder how many cuddles he has had at home since 2016. He'd better make a fortune on this book, because I think he's too radioactive to employ now.

Thanks. I decided to watch something else, and now I know I didn't miss anything. 🙂
