I would never advocate for islam, or any religion, especially Abrahanic ones, however the vast majority of "Islamic scholars" don't buy into the 72 virgins bit as it is from a lesser hadith. Some have even translated that to mean grapes, not virgins, much like the xtion belief in virgin birth could still be translated from the early texts as young maiden.
