I'm so glad this site exist.
I'm an emotionally cut off person and bitching about events from my youth have been far more therapeutic then one might guess.
Can't in real life, it drives away everyone.
A therapist would have cost a mint.
In the 1800's you had to journal. I don't want to write a novel.
I can just tell a joke or share a fact about me that traumatizes me in a response and it's enough.

I seem to be of a similar nature. Yes, telling a joke or relating something from the past with a wry take on it now is VERY cathartic.
I did do some therapy when I had money to spend on that sort of thing. It helped but since my main issues were with people 2,800 miles away the out of sight out of mind approach worked well.
Have you sorted out much of what was not working for you?

Yes, it seems if I have to think about it enough to describe it in writing I've thought enough about it to process it through an issue.

Its a good people site, and no matter what you have to talk about, we have enough diversity that there will always be some who want to listen and share.
