#IsraeliCruelty
[twitter.com] It takes high stages of cruelty to celebrate while seeing a place of worship set on fire.

As things escalate in this region, many of the reasons are shown in many of the Comments below. I am a proud atheist & anti-theist, but do not condone the destruction of any religious sites or places of worship, & most especially the killing of people or idiotic religious wars based on ancient texts.
Too many here just seem to glory in the destruction of "churches" regardless of the context, historicity or worth to the adherents. It deeply saddens me. The absolute glee in destruction & death that a number of you have shown is very disappointing, & has changed my opinions on a number of you, not that you should care, just saying.
We, as atheists & mostly, supposed, humanists, need to look beyond brief bouts of glee when a religious building is destroyed, especially when it is not like what happened at Notre Dame, which, for historical reasons alone is a damn shame, but when it is a result of a religious war. Which this conflict assuredly is.
Please, folks, think on that emotion of joy as the religion is not dying, only a building & art & history are.
I remain very troubled by a lot of what I saw here.
I'm sorry but I see all the constant reminders of the holocaust even after 70 years yet the treatment of another minority group (whose land was taken to accommodate the Israeli's) a bit hypocritical. Perhaps, instead of constantly licking their woulds the Israeli government would be better placed to actually try not to abusing another tribe. It seems this is simply another example of abuse the gift that keeps on giving.
These fanatics gather on the high ground Gaza to cheer on the carnage as unarmed, defenseless civilians are bombarded by some of the most sophisticated weaponry in the world. They sit there with refreshments as though it is a sporting event and joke about it with a common term called 'mowing the grass'. They are vicious fanatics no less so than the al Qaeda and Daesh murderers.
And when the Palestinians celebrated after 9/11 happened? What would that be?
(The fire came from a tree outside the mosque.)
And you read that where?
I'm surethat not all Palestinians cheered..but the USA has been funding their demise.
@Charlene The first one I saw as it was happening.
It seems the burning of the tree outside the Al Asqa mosque was a signal to launch an Israeli rocket attack in which 20 people died and that is what was being celebrated
Really, the USA is bank rolling the bombing of Palestine and the taking away of their land. Do you think they would LOVE THEM?
Whoa, I'm seeing some very revealing cruelty & bloodthirstiness here, & from some who surprise me. Good to know, tho. Supposed atheists & anti-theists having the same mindsets as the Taliban & ISIS. I guess some things really are only skin-deep.
I agree
As far as I am concerned you can burn down every place of worship on this planet. Religion is one of the worst things human beings have ever created along with war, and all too often they go hand in hand.
but killing the people inside is a different matter
Set all places of worship on fire. I'll get the marshmallows.
I don't wish to lower myself to the type of actions that the Taliban, ISIS & obviously Israel do. One day those churches may be homeless shelters, restaurants, book stores, who knows? Not a big fan of wanton destruction for any cause.
I know (I think) that that was tongue in cheek, but, still...
@phxbillcee No it wasn't. "homeless shelters, restaurants, book stores" One day? Palestinians have been doing that for 50 years. They dance in the streets on 9/11 when Islamic Terrorists ran planes into the Towers and the Pentagon.
I have Excellent marshmallow holders, X-long, with 2 prongs for better hold, no twisting
@barjoe Yeah, they danced. This country is not well loved across the world for many reasons, & this attitude is one of them. Our support for Israel is another (especially tRump moving the Consulate to Jerusalem). We are the reason that Iran is the theocracy it is, with our support for a corrupt & tyrannical shah. The examples are near endless, unfortunately.
@barjoe And the Israelis were observed dancing in New York when the planes struck as they knew the USA would strike Moslems.
@phxbillcee I saw many churches in Scotland acting as you say - crafts, books, social gathering halls.
@phxbillcee So you say 9/11 was justified. By that logic an American military response was justified as well. It's bad enough that foreigners trash America. It's pretty sad that Americans hate the United States as well.
@barjoe 9/11 justified America propping up a dictatorial Shah & training his corrupt & cruel secret police force many years earlier? Also, what do the mostly Saudi terrorists that committed the 9/11 attacks have to do w/ Palestine? Wow, such obfuscation.
@rogerbenham So Palestinians dancing in the streets of Jerusalem over 9/11? That happened. Israelis in New York? You mean American Jews? "observed dancing in New York" I was there, it didn't happen. A few fucking Arabs, and it could've incited violence, but it didn't. I wouldn't want to call you a fucking liar, I'll just say you're misinformed.
@barjoe I see you edited your Response above, trying to make me look bad. I never said 9/11 was justified, so don't put words in my mouth. I stated that many overseas, Muslim, S. American, African, etc. have reason(s) to dislike us & want us hurt. I don't hate this country, & again, you are disingenuously putting words in my mouth. Is that a common tactic of yours? I am a Veteran, I vote, until retirement I paid taxes, but I am not & never was an "America Love It or Leave It" martinet. This country has a lot to live up to & too often our government has done criminal & cruel things in the name of power & greed rather than living up to our potential. You are simply dishonest & of the same mindset as the terrorists you profess to loathe.
@phxbillcee Saudis and Palestinians are Arabs and they are Muslims and they all hate Americans.
@phxbillcee I wasnt trying to make you look bad. That's how I interpret what you wrote. I only edit to fix typos.
@barjoe & all Americans are therefore Native killing, slave-holding capitalist war criminals??? Do you see how stupid that sounds? You make no sense with these broad generalizations. Again, just more dishonesty from you. Have fun in your little world, I hope you interact with as few others as possible, that venom seems very toxic.
@barjoe & I do not believe you about the edit. It ended up being significantly different from the original, again, more dishonesty...
@barjoe & I see you edited 2 of them - revisionist.
@phxbillcee I'm not dishonest. I support American policy and I hear a lot of Anti American stuff on this site. It's an international site and it reflects world opinion. Unfortunately many Americans share that world view, which I feel is Anti-American. I'm not dishonest. My opinion. I don't care if people want to criticize me or call me a terrorist just because I support homeland security against threats from outside and from within.
@phxbillcee I only edit typos and sentences with grammatical errors. They do have an edit button for a reason. I am entitled to my opinion. I don't support Palestinians. You do. Good for you.
@barjoe The biggest threat from within is alt-right, neo-nazi, white supremacist, "Stop the Steal" people that live in the past, wear rose-colored glasses about that past & won't hold our government responsible when it does the wrong thing. I didn't call you a terrorist, I stated that you had the same mind-set as terrorist-type groups like the Taliban & ISIS, & I stand by that. A twisted, confused type of xtian/not-a-xtian Nationalist. You must be in pain with the knots you tie yourself into.
@barjoe Again, dishonest. At least one of those edits was greatly altered, after I responded, to discredit my Response. Deeply dishonest, both in the act & the explanation.
@barjoe & again, you put words in my mouth. I never said I supported Palestinians, tho I largely do over Israel, as Israel has dealt falsely with them & the world, & we've supported them. I said I understood their anger & frustration. Again, dishonesty. It's just not worth conversing with you any longer. You are not an honest interlocutor.
@phxbillcee You don't know me. I don't claim to know you. I wouldn't try to analyse or personally attack you. I disagree with some of what you say and I agree with some of what you say. I don't question your intentions or your motivation. Question mine if you it makes you happy. I do have a right to disagree with you. And it would be nice not to be told I'm "same mind-set as terrorist-type groups like the Taliban & ISIS" and a "twisted, confused type of xtian/not-a-xtian Nationalist" I am a proud American and I hate domestic terrorist GOP Neo-Nazis. I also will not be silenced when condemning radical Islamic terrorists and jihadists.
@barjoe You don't claim to know me or analyse me or attack me, but you can put words in my mouth & dishonestly alter the conversation. I don't know you, but you've proven your dishonesty. I don't believe a thing you say.
@phxbillcee Don't flatter yourself that I would bother editing a comment to make you look bad. Nobody is reading this besides you and me anyway. My eyesight is very bad and I don't own a laptop, so it's hard to see on my small phone. I make lots of typos which I don't usually see until I post a comment. I edit almost every comment at least once but not to change the context.
@AmmaRE007 I tried to have a conversation, but he continuously put words in my mouth & altered his Responses after I Responded, & changed them greatly, NOT just grammar or spelling. Not only is he a bit misguided, which I could understand, my Dad could be like that, but he is flat out dishonest about it. He can't converse on an honest level. Any valid points he may have had have been poisoned by his methods. This is an important topic, & may end up being as existential a threat as Climate Change, as it could trigger WWIII. (The hoped for Armageddon of the xtian right & some here, it seems) Nothing was accomplished here, tho, but to show some of our Sites more bloodthirsty folks. Shame, really, but I'm glad to see the face(s) behind the masks.
