Hello šŸ™‚ Iā€™m sure some of you remember who I am. Iā€™ll dive right into this. A woman on here accused me of having 2 sock puppet accounts. No. I deleted my 1st two cuz I have Autism Spectrum Disorder; overwhelmed by some of the UNNECESSARILY rude people on here. I thought this was supposed to be a Humanist site?

If anyone ā€œdoesnā€™t believe me...ā€ I have THREE friends I met on here who are on my personal FB page who really truly know me.

I know that I was not ā€˜honestā€™ about my disorder to others... and by that I mean, I was not honest with myself. I can understand why some people on here may have been a little confused with my actions and behaviors and I apologize for that.

But do I have to go around telling everyone that I have ASD in order for them to treat me with kindness? It is one thing to get into a debate on here. It is another thing to call me dumb, a bitch, and trying to pick a fight with me probably out of pure boredom on their part. That is just an assumption though, but to ME a pretty accurate one .

But it was my own fault for feeding into it. And I have owned up to that.

This goes for everyone, too. Not just people with ASD. But people like me who do have ASD and was clinically diagnosed is even harder. I thought this was secular humanist site, which is why I joined in the first place. ???

Iā€™m not mad or angry at anyone. Iā€™m hurt and frustrated at the rude members on here who are not only rude to me, but rude to other people.

I understand that the First Amendment states this...

ā€œCongress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.ā€

But at what point does ā€œfree speechā€ become abusive?

The point Iā€™m trying to make is that this is ā€œsupposedā€ to be a Humanist site. I know every single person on here can read. There is community guidelines written somewhere in this site. I know that some people might think Iā€™m a ā€œwhinny baby snowflake,ā€ but May is Mental Health Awareness month. This is the last day of May and I was reluctant to post this due to back-lash... but in the months Iā€™ve been gone... Iā€™ve grown A LOT. I am advocating for people like myself. I am also advocating for kindness all around no matter who the person is.

I just graduated with my Associateā€™s Degree in Human Services. I plan on getting my Bachelorā€™s Degree in the near future. I missed a lot of the fun, kind, positive, and caring members on here. Which is actually quite A LOT. But the rude ones of course in my head I ā€œthoughtā€ about more.

I am not sure if Iā€™m going to stay or leave again. But this will be my very last account Iā€™ll ever make.

To all the kind members, I appreciate you.

-Veronica Ann J.

P.S. I am now ā€œrefusingā€ to engage in ANY rude people on here and I will completely ignore them. If it gets REALLY bad to the point where theyā€™re being abusive to me and any other members, I will happily block you. The choice is yours.

We live in a time when no matter your point of few or facts there are those who will criticize, and those who will slander you, and yet those who feel sympathy towards others!!!

I have been all three and all three have been for and against me!!!

Just not to the point that I will block anyone who treats me Ill or liable me!!!

On second thought I would block the asshole!!!

Hi! If you didn't know, many folks like myself are here via the Agnostic.com website as opposed to the Humanist.com website. It's my understanding that the two websites share the same platform. Log into one or the other, you'll end up in the same cyberspace. I hope that resets your expectations.

I appreciate you advocating for health/wellness and kindness. Don't let the rude ones discourage you.

And congratulations on getting your degree!

Lovely to see you again, dear. You are under no obligation to make personal doclosures to anyone at any time, that is entirely your decision. My motto is that as long as I am doing my best, no one can expect any more from me. I think it was Robin Williams who encouraged us to be kind to everyone because you don't know what they might be going through. Thank you very much for posting this, kindness is totally underrated. Please let me know if I can support you in any way
