I believe that the actual number of deaths directly attributable to covid are a small fraction of what has been reported. I contend that most of those deaths were actually a result of existing serious disease conditions. What have been rather euphemistically called "co-morbidity". Added to this is the financial incentive to hospitals to classify deaths as covid regardless of the actual cause. Each of the deaths so classified resulted in many thousands of dollars of federal aid. As usual, follow the money.

You're just drinking the kool-aid and I hear your supreme leader will be back in power in August. Of course you have no facts to back up your assertion because there are none. Isn't it amazing that the U.S. "health care system" also convinced every other country in the world to doctor their death reports? Luckily we're also providing federal aid to every other country who reports a COVID death...otherwise you conspiracy theorists would have nothing to whine about. Can't wait for the auditors in Arizona to find the smoking email between all the health care entities in the U.S to agree to call all those deaths COVID. I'm sure when you find your facts (look up the word "fact" ) you'll supply them here.
As an addendum, what's the strategy behind downplaying the pandemic? If too many people die from it your supreme leader looks worse because he is responsible for those deaths because he called it a hoax and did nothing to protect the people of the United States? Because he looks like an idiot because it didn't go away when it got warmer? So not only are you mad at god you're mad at the health care system? In addition to coming up with FACTS to justify your claim, come up with the reason for downplaying the pandemic. Let me guess the U.S. Capitol wasn't attacked on January 6...

Your series of presumptions regarding my position on matters unrelated to my OP are all incorrect. You have never spoken with me yet you presume to read my mind. You failed badly at doing that.
You come across to me as arrogant and intolerant of any belief not consistent with your own preferred narrative. Much like a religious zealot.
I prefer to live outside of the echo chamber.

@dumasarok is that supposed to be a defense to not having any facts?

dum as a rok Very interesting.

I think having a financial incentive for hospitals to classify deaths as covid when they are not could possibly lead to overreporting, but not so much as to make the actual count a fraction of the reported count. I know too many people that lost loved ones to this for that to make sense. This is anecdotal I know, but it is my first hand evidence.

just plain stupidity.

You're not by any chance a conspiracy theorist or QAnon supporter, are you?

To the first, I am not. To the second, what is QAnon?

Your "theory" fits their narrative extremely well.
For a start, it is "America-centric" so ignores the fact that most of the civilised world has virtually free healthcare, covered by general taxation, to the exclusion of "for profit" providers.

@Petter don't you know, there is no such thing as covid or qanon.

You will be blocked. I always block the stupid. I'm funny that way.

So I have been Type Ii diabetic since 1992, still maintain/upgrade my home & yard for over 50 years, been diagnosed with CHF for almost 4 years, (drug interaction!) but if i got covid & died, what.....?
Do you think anybody is going to live forever?

I'm sorry to learn of your health problems. I do wish you well.

@dumasarok Nice dodge

@indirect76 yeah, he has no rely, and suddenly realizes his post is both nonsensical & offensive, sooooooo crocodile tears......

Something caused the death rate to increase dramatically. Your theory doesn't account for that.

5

Actually it's the opposite many Red states made them report covid deaths as something else during Trump. That way covid would seem less severe justifying his lack of response

Almost all deaths in any country or year are the result of more than one cause, but here in the UK, ( where incidentally there is no extra money going to hospitals, ) we have good stats for a higher than usual mortality. And that is despite the inevitable reduction in things like, road deaths caused by the stay at home/stay local orders, and winter flu deaths reduced by the social distancing, hand cleaning and mask wearing orders.

You are correct that many deaths are the result of a combination of causes, especially for the elderly. Where I live Winters are always cold and often very harsh forcing people to stay indoors much of the time. Despite this and the covid there was no perceptible decrease in local travel habits here.
I cannot speak to the conditions in the UK as I have never been there.

At least you named yourself well. 😁

It doesn't make any difference whether you're right or wrong people died that would not have died without being exposed to covid.

I don't dispute that. It's the reported numbers that I am suspicious of.

As usual, you provide zero supporting evidence to support your belief which proves that you have no regard for the truth. Typical con.
