SETI has so far come with zip, and a number of interesting approaches have been tried. The Rare Earth hypothesis is looking better all the time.

@Druvius So you have objective evidence that no other races exist or travel space?

@xenoview I didn't say that, but decades of increasingly sophisticated searches have come up with nada. There's still a number of promising approaches that haven't been tried yet, so maybe someday.

@Druvius Maybe they decided to not respond to us. Maybe they have stealth tech that avoids us from detecting them.

@xenoview Yes, that's one possible explanation for the Fermi Paradox. It's a layer of special pleading though, not really an argument. I'm all for space exploration and SETI, I'd love to be around when aliens are discovered.

@xenoview No, SETI is a body of scientific research, some ongoing, searching for sign of intelligent aliens similar to humans. There are no authorities on extraterrestrial life because we have yet to discover any. I'm not quite sure what point you're trying to make.
