Are you talking about involuntary emotional response to music?

There are a lot of ideas out there on this topic. Here's a few more:

Hey thankyou this is my first conversation on this site ... cheers for you wonderful thoughts.

Music to me is a universal language

No borders

Music is vibration, we are vibration, when the two connect deeply, we are effected by it, deeply.
As a drummer, singer and writer of lyrics, music to me is vital and a great 'tool', many different genres for many differnet scenerios, moods and purposes. Music, can also be a crutch, keeping yourself in a mood (i.e. depression/love lost, etc) that is not healthy most of the time. Music is powerful.

Love it thanks

I love music which combines true melody and power, such as that of Aaron Copland.

Super good question! I’ve thought about this one a bit as well. Still an open area of research so far as I know. Why do major notes sound “happy” and minor notes “sad”. I think there is a lot of complicated stuff going on here. I think it’s a mistake to assume it’s a human invention. Animals use rythmic and harmonious sounds all the time to communicate. I think perhaps it has something to do with tribalism and using sound to create a sensation of “connectedness”. Voices in harmony allow a group of people to be perceived as “one thing” ... a chorus... rhythm is kind of a way to get a group “in sync”. Just some ideas. I don’t think we have hard answers on this one yet.

Thank you my belief is that we come from a source energy and simply return when we shed the body and it is all vibration. In saying this i think thr denser notes ( lower ) seems to have a slower vibration bringing about in me a melancholy and the brighter 'faster ' a general feeling of light heartedness.

When it comes to the subconcious and songs that is awhole big pot of thought ....

It does work like a trigger to release certain chemicals in your brain to embellish intense emotions.

Something to do with drumbeats and very very early man or neanderthal s so it's encoded into our dna
