Why is it okay to wish death on some, but not others? Ex: Wishing Osama bin Laden death...no problem, wishing Rush Limbaugh, Obama, or The Pope death...outrage.
There are certainly people who should not be walking around, but I'm not sitting here wishing death on them. I certainly wouldn't cry over the loss of a large list of people. I just think it sucks where we live in a world where Tom Petty, Prince, George Michael, etc are gone, but Justin Bieber is still walking around.
Slightly off topic but I wish 50,000 children a day didn’t die from malnutrition across the world. And I wish their 100,000 parents didn’t have to hold them in their arms and watch them die. Ouch! That was a bit somber (I’ve been saying that for 30 years so I’m not sure if that figure has gone down or up - probably up!)
I try to just think there’s people I would be sad if they were dead and others I wouldn’t. Sometimes I feel like the world might be better off if a certain person were dead (Putin?) but there’s always someone else. And as the other poster said, wishing someone dead is pointless as far as their ending up dead. But I think such thoughts can be kind of a poison to a person’s mind and outlook.
Do you feel you know enough about Purim to pass summary judgement over his human existence?
Even from a political point of view, his death might cause political and cultural instability in a world power.
Exactly. You never know how things will be affected by other things. Makes me glad I don’t decide who lives or dies.
I don’t think it’s okay to wish death on anyone.
Yep; I was about to say that
And it's perfectly fine for you to feel that way. Everyone is different.
@Rideauxb Seem pretty obvious. I wouldn’t like someone to wish death on me, so I do not wish death on others.
then you needn't do it ...no problem
I really don't want anyone to die...but I would love to see trump live the harshest life their is to live. And I want to watch it...like it's reality TV. Hell I would almost buy a TV for that.
There are, as of last month, 7.6 Billion people on this planet.
Wishing a few of them dead is perfectly acceptable. Especially when they are particularly
heinous individuals, like 45, or Alex Jones.
Wishing anyone dead doesn't make it so. If people want to be "outraged", let them.
Who gives a fuck?
I agree. There are several people in the world (one who I work with) I really do wish would die. Obviously, I'd never do anything to make it so. But, if it happens, I'll chance the hangover from the party!
