As I understand this intellectually it is also untrue of the moment. I am still attached to The Great Movie (as I call life) and grieving that my attachment is waning. Other than "The beauty of the curve of the Earth, and its oceans below," or its land, most of TGM annoys me now. This lesson is an aspiration and those are realized in a time that doesn't exist. The future. Much like the ideas of our constitution being a goal in the process of becoming is not satisfactory for those in the moment who thought it applied to them but, as it happens, not if they can't cough up money to defend that thought. It's a very nice sentiment but that doesn't mean shit. "Don't dream it. Be it."
Sorry. "I woke up this morning with an attitude. Looked at the headline. Put me in a real bad mood." Children also express anger over silly things.

I don't need Divine Illumination. I just want to live long enough to experience Feeling Loved.

Good luck. Looking back I can't say that love was the source of my treatment from anyone except dad (who died at 45 so I may be remembering his motivations wrong).

@rainmanjr I don't understand what you just said.

Sri RP's quote sounds like so much babble. I think his use of the term "illumination" is off. He likely meant serenity or emotional peace. But stick the word "divine" in front, and it makes even obvious nonsense sound mysterious and intriguing.
As for being childlike, I have never known children to be particularly more serene than their elders. They often get impressively upset over simple things. Oh! But you said that already. 😉

"Don't dream it. Be it."
Isn't that a line from the Rocky Horror Picture Show?
🤔
Inspiration comes in many guises, I suppose. Lol

It is. In fact, every quotation is from a song that works well for the thought.

Sounds vaguely Buddhist, or, wait, I know! Deepak Chopra, the guy who uses 1000 circuitous words to say Nothing .

I heard him do a recent interview and he seems, um, humbled by fame's retreat. I respect him but he did begin to seek the prestige.

Can one distinguish truth from studied ignorance? What are people like who have followed that path?

I once thought we could but would now say that I don't know. Generally speaking ignorance hurts.

@rainmanjr Isn't science within the realm of the worldly knowledge to be eschewed? Doesn't a knowledge of science enhance knowing the truth? Are we not all suffering because so many embrace ignorance?

@racocn8 Yes to all but d$A has never preferred science over religion. We have always been a version of India.
