Well! Thanks to impeccable research and dedicated experimentation I can definitely state that the spinning blade of a bench saw is stronger than the flesh on human fingers.

@Petter I have a small one built onto a 7' pole, although hard to use, (the main weight is in the working end) i like it a lot.
I also have a 4" hand-held one, Extremely useful but Very dangerous, even with the "dead-woman" switch........
Every time I hear the word chainsaw I remember the day my husband came home from cutting wood and promptly walked in and sat down at the dining room table and began taking off his boot. The boot had an obvious slash across the top. He informed me the chainsaw got away from me and I think I need to check my toes. I almost fainted especially when he got the boot off and there was blood on the sock but it was just an abrasion. I was ready to beat him to death but didn't.
@Lorajay my parents used to find out we were okay & then thrash us....I think to relieve their feelings!
I feel for you, it hurts all the way here in Astoria. Years ago I had a piece of wood. While oak, shaped like a knife blade, 26 in long, go through the back of my hand. The piece of wood went from the saw going through my hand, hitting a door some 20 feet away, bouncing back towards the saw. I was off work for 6 weeks. Two hours of surgery to get the splinters out and sew it back together. Not trying to brag, I just want people to be careful when working with a saw as they can be extremely dangerous.

A less violent knife injury happened to my little finger.

I am currently growing back the top half of my fingernail that I severed while truing a disc brake on an ebike. I spent a career as a carpenter/master builder and broke 23 bones on the job but never lost any digits - you've got to respect the power of those power tools. Get well soon.

Yikes. Very unfortunate, and doubtless agonizing. I heard about Sawstop years ago, and want to spread the word to anyone else that uses a table saw. Might spare them what you are going through:

A live Sawstop demo convinced me without my having done myself any damage.
In California, after my ex-husband had to take our neighbor to the hospital, having cut off part of his thumb, the neighbor bought one.
I was just about to post that link myself.
It's such a closeup that I can't really tell what happened, but it doesn't look good.

@Petter fastest way to control bleed & contain bits before going to E&A is to pull a silicone surgical glove on.
It also helps stop complaints from "her indoors" about blood splashing on the carpets & tiles.
That'll get you out of cooking & chores for a few weeks!
Behave yourself Petter. You're now a silverback! Fine way not to celebrate. If you'd been sawing horizontally in bed it wouldn't have happened!
