But you'd have to teach masses of people to not be attached to identities. Good luck with that!

Hey Beaverton.. We’ve a long (long) way to go, first. Like a united language ..but I don’t care to learn French.. Actually, we appear to be heading in the same direction, due to technology, mutual desires and shared needs.

The key word in your proclamation being should, rarely do humans do ‘what they should.’ If further unification appears to be in our personal best interests, we’ll likely continue in that direction. But what’s always confused and troubled me is the multitude of bloody battles with ‘neighboring nations,’ people sharing the closest of genetics, yet incapable of living side by side… Yes, a very long way to go ~

I agree. My Conservative, Gadsden-flag-flying dad has boycotted the NFL, and others in the famdamily are all upset about the ‘insult to our troops’. Useless to talk to them about it. I love ‘em but politics & religion are taboo subjects.
