Just heard on the B.B.C. World Service News via Short-wave Radio, Yes I still have and listen to shortwave radio.
A Conservator at the big New Museum in Egypt made a startling discover 2 days ago by sheer accident.
He was working at cleaning and restoring an area on the inner most casket that held the mummy of King Tut where it was though for nearly 100 years that workmen carving the casket had secretly inscribed a hieroglyphic symbol presumably representing their names.
When the Conservator pressed slightly ion the area with a soft cloth to start the delicate cleaning process a panel approx. 15cms x 10cms opened up and in it was a small bundle wrapped in linen, when unwrapped very carefully, the bundle was found to contain Eating utensils carved from what appeared to be Lebanese Cedar wood, there were 4 ornately carved spoons, 4 ornately carved two pronged forks and 4 small tweezer/forceps. tong like objects also ornately carved.
