I may sound cold heart, which I am not, but I am so sick of hearing about Barbarba Bush's death. Not just hers but any one who has ever been in the news. Why can't the media just let the dead rest?
I get sick of all things I here too much. millions of people die every fucking day and who gives a flying fuck what harries future wedding will be like or that Justin fucking Bieber crashed his Lambo.
I feel the same … and didn’t chime in on another thread around here regarding ‘her’ death. What I recall of her is negative, she reminded me of the authoritarian bitch she was. Hideously ugly, almost manly, too.. She hid behind power, and when close to it, prodded it to increase her own.
I’d remained fairly neutral on her until she’d described the Democratic Primary Candidates for president looking to run against her child in an extremely derogatory way. So, she deserves the same. And, after 4 years of failure, to have championed the (up until then) worst President in US history to seek another term left her also accountable for his disastrous second term…
I turned NPR off yesterday as they fell all over themselves praising someone undeserving of national recognition…
You don’t sound cold hearted. You sound annoyed at pop-culture mass media and it’s vampiric nature. Barbara Bush seemed like a class act but in truth she and I are strangers. I only knew her low key public persona and she had no idea that I existed. Pragmatically speaking, why would I be affected by her passing at all? What I think and feel on this subject has no affect on those that are truly mourning for her. How does the news make us feel guilty for not wanting to dwell on the death of a public persona and simultaneously deflect the fact of how parasitic/vampiric they are?
I kind of liked her, but was not a fan of when she would randomly assume her true lizard form.
