I think Neil was a bit shocked his bluff was called. If he was a principled man, he would have simply removed his art rather than give ultimatums, not needing to broadcast his intentions for commercial publicity exposure.

@puff "Joyous" is what determines the worth of an artist's work now? It used to be more vague things like craftsmanship, abilities, and power to activate a body or stimulate a mind. If it can't be art because it doesn't offer joy (in the immediate as a rumination can often end with a joyous outcome) then a good many artists were frauds. Van Gogh, for one.

@rainmanjr The great thing about art is it is totally up to interpretation by the individual. What floats your boat may not float others. It should confront and stimulate your sensors, depending what form art takes.
Never been into Neil Young. That era, more Neil Diamond, Cream, Jimi and the like. Yes it's ok to hear a song every now and then, but I'm not into Neil Young much. Others more so. That's art.
