I had read that article and not long after reading I was getting my mail and my neighbor - the only republican on my FB friend list was just coming back from walking her dog. We use to be able to talk but our interaction now is very tense - on her part - and we are not even discussing politics. Gardening, quilting - other stuff. Sadly there is this palatable tenseness and under lying anger when she is around those of us who are not republican and think like they do.

Florida has a large coastal area, Texas too, but somewhat less.
