A couple of years ago I totaled out a company truck. Many made talk of how god was protecting me but I credited my seat belt. Yesterday I was damned near T-boned in front of a steak house. (Truth with no pun intended.) I'm on the main street and the idiot who pulled out apparently did not see me. He ended up on the main street where I was and took my exact location. I shot off into a large historic parking lot to my right and told some people it happened so fast that I don't think god knew about it.

This was too much for one person I deliver parts to. She told me that god knows everything and that he must have something special planned for me. She knows this because if that other vehicle had of hit me I would be dead, she says. I gave her a serious look and told her to stop. I told her she is making things up. How would she know if I would be dead? All she knows is what I told her. I left her shop shaking my head.

She is a typical believer who learned all about her god as a child, does not go to church today, but can tell you what she learned in Sunday School. My incident helps me to remember that I live and work with these types of people daily. It scares me sometimes.

Glad that you are okay.

God was telling you to go ahead and have that T-bone steak you’ve been wanting?!🤷🏻♂️

Had the conversation today about how dangerous Chicago is. Despite what the mindless, pointless and wishfully irrelevant MSM keeps saying (& repeating Republican talking points) it's "only" about the 20th most dangerous city crime wise.

My point made to my friend was...... we always hear about one murder (2, 3 or 4?) but not much thought goes towards the 7,000,000 people who were NOT murdered today.

MSM has an obsession with their own stupidness .....as does religion I guess.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just tired of living around people that think and believe like this. Talking to a Walmart door greeter today and her opinion of everything going on is "the end times." That's right. We are living in the end times. Soon I'm gonna start putting it back on them like this - "Lady, Jesus told his disciples that we were in the end times and that some of them might be alive at his second coming. Do you honestly think that any of them are close to 2000 years old and alive today?" 🙂

Only if they had a good diet and exercised daily.

Glad you've survived both the potential accident and the people you have to work with.

Bible crap aside I sure wish some drivers spent as much time repeating the fucking drivers manual they supposedly learned to get the license to operate a vehicle. Glad you did not end up as road kill😏.

Yeah. I twas the seatbelt and many years of engineering to make sure the car itself absorbed a great deal of the impact, so passengers would not experience the full impact of a collision.

I tend to agree with you about how people make stuff up to coincide with or justify their own beliefs or actions. That is how most of the stories in the bible were created.

I'm really glad that you weren't seriously hurt.

As for the rest, SMFH.

The fact is, what happened (a near miss) was a pretty common occurrence, and requires no supernatural explanation. Glad you made it through unscathed!

Right!? And why would this loving god spare someone a car accident but turn his head when a child is being raped or murdered. So stupid

@JonnaBononna The standard Christian answer to your question is that "God has a plan, but He has not revealed it to us." In other words, they try to explain away an inconvenient flaw in their thinking with another imagined thing for which there is absolutely no supporting evidence. Christians love to climb out on slender limbs.

@Flyingsaucesir yep. I heard a coworker telling another that if what she wanted hadn't happened, god was still working and she should keep waiting... I kept walking and rolled my eyes lol

@JonnaBononna ....pray to a milk jug.

@twill you'd get the same results!

@JonnaBononna EXACTLY!
