The next time someone asks you, "What's your sign?" respond with, "Astronomical or Astrological?" These aren't the same. The Sun nowadays passes through thirteen constellations and does not spend roughly equal time in each. For example, the Sun crosses the constellation Ophiucus for 7 days each year, while spending 6 weeks in a couple of others.

Astrology is 2000 years out of date. Anyone attempting to read your astrological chart should be made aware that the planets collectively pass through 21 constellations, not just those known as the Zodiac.

You probably can get those who are really into astrology to simply walk away.

The Signs of the Zodiac are just boundaries drawn on a 'sky map' (atlas) Like the rest of the constellations they actually don't exist out there in the real sky.

I always tell them my Chinese Astrology sign. Usually confuses the hell out of them and they stop asking stupid questions.

Then they may at least get one thing right - your age 😉

on the list of religious and psuedoscientific crap that annoys me astrology is pretty damn far down the list in terms of relative harmfulness to our society. fuck it.

The cool thing about astrology is that you can make it whatever you want, the same applies to numerology and tarot cards. Oh you're a (fill in the blank) they are very kind, jealous, sociable, smart, funny - - - who's going to say No? lol They're all parlour tricks, have fun with them. 🙂
