I do agree with you on this. If the feds don't really punish both the actual rioters on Jan. 6, as well as the pols and leaders, including Trump, for their role in this, the insurrection will be a dress rehearsal for the next time, and we will have a real civil war, with fighting in the streets. That is what the fascists want and they will not hold back if they feel the government is not serious about opposing or punishing them for Jan. 6 or any future uprisings. And I think the civilian leaders of our country are afraid of opposing them in any serious manner, because they know a majority of the cops and military are sympathetic to them, if not outright members of the same right-wing, white Christian supremist groups as the Jan. 6 group.

This is scary how accurate that is.
