How to be straight lessons are now on the school curriculum, a least in church sponsored schools it seems.
A Kentucky middle school asked kids in a homework assignment to discourage an imaginary friend from being gay and to turn straight for God
The Christian Academy of Louisville in Kentucky had Kids write a letter to an imaginary gay friend expressing that "homosexuality will not bring them satisfaction." in a Bible class.
"The aim of your letter should be to lovingly and compassionately speak truth to the person you're talking to in a way that does not approve of any sin. Instead, TRY TO PERSUADE THEM OF THE GOODNESS OF GOD'S DESIGN for them." reads the assignment.
"This part of a unit of study which discusses 'What are humans and where is their identity?'" said Darin Long of the Christian Academy of Louisville School System
"as an example of " and prepares students to show how a person could discuss homosexuality with a friend from a biblical perspective with compassion and love."
The Christian Academy of Louisville teaches children in grades one through six and charges (currently) $11,000 per term to provide a "traditional education in a Christ-centered environment",

The way I see the Eden myth is that Lucifer freed humans from a life of being special pets and slaves.
And if your friend does not comply and agree to a life with an approved partner they have zero attraction to? The shunning lessons are next.
Followed by beating them and leaving them tied to a fence to die in freezing temperatures.

Sadly true
These ignorant adults are so horrible. They get a hold of these children very young so they can start putting this shit in their heads. It is so true that children learn what they live, and if they live with bigots who teach them bigotry what do we expect the kids to grow up to be?? In my opinion this is child abuse.

There is no way to lovingly and compassionately tell someone "My invisible superfriend is going to torture you forever for being the way he made them." It's sick sheet no matter how expressed, not to mention the opposite of Christ's teachings.

One of the many things I detest about religions is their tendency to redefine perfectly obvious words to mean exactly the opposite of in church parlance, "Loving Christian God" being a prime example
I wonder if they teach them about pedophilia or is that a learned experience at the hands of church elders?

There is a great line in the comedy show Father Ted where the eponymous Ted tries to excuse paedophilia in the RC by saying, "Look only a very small percentage of Catholic Priests are paedophiles, 10% at most," to which his curate father Dougal says "Ted are there not about 40 million Catholic Priests world wide?"
