Another Freddie Gray. As if one wasn't enough.
(DISCLAIMER: Video shows police violence. This is not bloody. There is no death scene in this video.)
**IF you choose to watch, pay attention to one particular female cop that says,... "he's fine. He's drunk...."
Now. As a woman, someone's Mother, there's no way in holy hell that I would've allowed, let alone be part of taunting, making fun of, torturing and treating this man, this obviously seriously injured man, happen. This woman, in this case, is much more demeaning than any other officer on site. I find this exceptionally disgusting. Maybe I'm just used to angry white men brutalizing Black men ad nauseum, I dunno. This deeply upsets me.)
Police take man on a "rough ride" breaking his neck. They deny him medical treatment, leave him in a holding cell, AFTER THEY PARALYZED HIM
Cops at the station simply state that Mr. Cox has had too much to drink. He was arrested on a gun charge. Common sense (if anyone there had it) would tell you that Mr. Cox was in no way capable of even holding a gun when they got him to the station. Some even view this that he was faking. Now back to the common sense thing again. The officer who transported Mr. Cox knew that he was injured.
With the right attorney Mr. Cox and his family will get a lot of money but this will not be overnight.
It seems to just never fucking end, does it?
All cops must be required to carry liability insurance. These disgusting knuckle-draggers would be priced out of the industry.
That would certainly help the taxpayers as they are the ones footing the bill when the city settles out of court for the damages. Just maybe the cops would think twice for fear of premiums being raised or the insurance canceled due to abuse. I would add in a suspension without pay should they lose the insurance and fired if unable to secure another.
