Over the past years, since the evolution of apes into humanity, as far as I understand religion has been an integral part of society.

But as I now know, it is the biggest cancer.

And to be born in the most conservative religion, was my worst luck.

I am looking for friends especially ex-muslims in india, as I wish to know their side of the story.

Thanks

Pray for whirled peas. Hard to find them in the grocery stores.

Religion and culture is intertwined. Not all bad with my biggest gripe the indoctrination of children to perpetuate the bullshit.
Belief is unprovable and requires faith to believe.
Knowledge only requires acceptance of provable facts.
Belief is not knowledge
Faith is not fact.
This should be taught to children

I worked in India for a while and found the Muslim people there pretty mellow (was in Kolkata so went the Muslim quarter a bit to get some beef). The riots in the 90's (I think) there were pretty full on from all accounts, something I was unaware of.

If you can, travel. Many are caught in conservative lives, not just Muslims. But many many more are not.

Ya, every religion has its issues

I wish you well.

And since you mention evolution, one of my favorite topics, I'll just throw in that technically, humans didn't evolve from apes, because humans are a species of ape. We're all primates together.

Ya we had a common ancestor. But that was not the point of the post.

Consider yourself fortunate to have escaped the asylum. You now have the opportunity to see clearly all the majesty (and pathos too) that will go unseen by the believers.

But be careful. Blind believers are insanely jealous of those that can see at all. Only disclose your awareness to those you trust with your life.

Good luck in your quest for friends who like yourself are ex Muslims….don’t know that you’ll find too many here, but I could be mistaken. Enjoy the freedom of speaking your mind freely and join in the discussions with us across different countries and continents.

Thank you
