You don't like people who tell the truth about America, do you? Even American truth tellers. Never watch George Carlin, I beg you. You'd never handle it.

@AnneWimsey my error. I'm envious. And yet you're offended by Maher's comparatively mild criticism, compared to George's. What is this new hobby horse of yours calling anyone of plain speaking mind an 'elitist'? You're not above 'judgemental' yourself, BTW. As for elitist, well only you know what you mean by that.
@David1955 I never ever have said I was, or wanted to be, non-judgmental. Maybe you are confusing me with someone else? Maybe you should read the comments below, especially @linxminx, for a simple honest explanation of how Maher is Exactly an elitist asshole on this subject. Or, you could review some of the new Science coming out about the rampant obesity epidemic. (hint: the well-funded influence of the Sugar Industry)
I like Maher a lot, but I must say, however, that I see him these days as George Carlin Light. Now, Carlin wouldn't fuck around. 30 years ago and less he would say America is a country of big fat fucks, whose two main occupations are gorging on food, and gorging on consumption, he would add. Watching Bill these days, it's so obvious how much he channels the late George, albeit a Light version. Don't be offended Americans; the big-fat-fuckization of the West has spread everywhere, including my own country, like all American things do, though not to me personally, I'm pleased to say, being an atheist and democratic socialist in views, but definitely a lifestyle conservative, on things like drink, drugs and exercise. Gorge on America.
