To me, these fools illustrate an important principle: The more real knowledge about the world around us we have, the greater the opportunity for acquiring humility in the face of what we realize we don’t know. The smug arrogance flowing from the small-minded ignorance of these folks — the pretense to certainty — makes them incredibly dangerous as they can and will do anything in the name of their “truths.” I look at the expression on Copeland’s face, and shudder to think what he’d do to the rest of us if he ever got his hands on real power. And I think this can apply to any ideology, not just religious ones.
