I see Copeland is up to his usual fuckery... TYT evaded the actual cause which isn't surprising considering that the media moguls like to squash them out for reporting the truth. The real issue isn't guns or some invisible bad guy. It never was. It is the tools at work in the divide and conquer scheme that has been played time and time again. The government wants us to be pissed off and fighting each other over bullshit, rather than uniting together to say enough is enough. They make sure the news is all a steady diet of carefully selected half-truths and they redact other things that threaten their stranglehold.
They created a society in which you have the illusion of freedom, the they find folks to make wild claims that these people over here are going to take away (_____), insert your favorite right/freedom here, all the while it never was that at all. It works well with religious folks because a handful of bigoted preachers and clergy can spread that twisted message at their pulpits! They tell those vulnerable and suffering and thusly very programable to hate this or that person for whatever reason because it comes from the devil or is unholy. A great example is same sex marriage and homophobia. Before 1946, there was no mention of homosexual in the bible. It was added when the RSV translated the word which was pedophile in the earlier version to homosexual thus making the new version a weapon for division.
Churches like Westboro Baptist Church took to it like flys to honey. Most clergy didn't question it and thus became the saga we now face. It wasn't until more recently that people began waking up and saying "Hey, wait a fuckin minute!" Before the church started getting challenged and push back began in earnest. Gun violence isnt a gun problem nor a school problem. It IS a social problem. People are desperate. They can't feed their families. They can't afford health care. They can't afford rent. They cannot afford to miss work at all because their bills keep going up. They are forced to work increasingly shitter jobs, and even then it's not enough. The politicians don't give a damn as long as they get their cut from the lobbyists. So people are stressed out to the max. This stress spills over to the household and it isnt much better in schools. Schools are more like prisons now than centers of education. Kids can't defend themselves from a bully. They are brow-beaten to let the teachersbor administrators handle it. In many cases it goes unreported because teachers and administrators do not handle the problem. In some cases the victims get punished because the bullies are star athletes and the school places team sports above the safety and well-being of the students. It is a perfect storm of bullshit to make people lose their shit.
Pharmaceutical companies pushed opioids out and got people addicted and then they go to the streets for heroine and other drugs to mask the pain in many cases. This cascades into kids getting the drugs and becoming users or sellers even.
So, no. It isn't a lack of prayers in school. Nor is it a gun problem. It is in fact a social problem created by a system that preys on ignorance and uses religion amongst other things to keep the sheeple divided and fighting.

To me, these fools illustrate an important principle: The more real knowledge about the world around us we have, the greater the opportunity for acquiring humility in the face of what we realize we don’t know. The smug arrogance flowing from the small-minded ignorance of these folks — the pretense to certainty — makes them incredibly dangerous as they can and will do anything in the name of their “truths.” I look at the expression on Copeland’s face, and shudder to think what he’d do to the rest of us if he ever got his hands on real power. And I think this can apply to any ideology, not just religious ones.

As a pubic school teacher for 31 years I will continue to remind people that the Bible and prayer were NEVER taken out of schools. A student could bring a Bible to read during times of silent reading or reading after a test. They could silently pray before school, before a test, or over lunch. But that is not what they want. They want forced reading and prayer.
