It really depends. Some people need a contractual obligation in order to feel committed, some don't. In property situations, it can protect the rights both parties and is better than simple verbal agreements. It is beneficial for tax purposes, child rearing, other societal tasks.

@Lizard_of_Ahaz I saw that after I had replied, but WTF he won't be around long since everyone is on to him, someone posted it in the clear on laughs are us rather than in one of the two scammer groups that they(scammers) don't have access to.

Yes. Having a close loving relationship is not. Marriage is a bargaining chip used by disenfranchised women. But as long as this arrangement strongly favors women, men wiil (or should) be reluctant to agree. No marriage should happen without a prenuptial agreement.
