Survival of the fittest? Speculation...but that is a source of science. Natural selection is the passing on of traits that have proved beneficial. What about machines, being useful to humans is what drives machine evolution? Artificial intelligence won't want to take over, that would betray the very core of the traits that lead to its success.
racocn8, SpikeTalon, Heraclitus,What does anyone think of my current views on AI as follows . AI is simply a decision by Humans to use the speed of modern computers to process VERY much bigger sources of information and sort them quickly into useful? No more complicated than that
A better phrase for evolution drivers is "Survival of the most adaptable",Rather than "Survival of the fittest"
It all depends upon how AI is programmed. AI does not evolve by natural evolution but by how we program it. It also depends upon whether or not AI ever obtains self-awareness and then does its own programming.
