How Would Humanity React If We Really Found Aliens?

No one would care. If they are here they have been here for a long time. Not to bad so far.
The article doesn't talk about aliens turning up on our door step but us spotting their signal from many light years away.
How would humanity reacts to such evidence? Some would be inspired, some would deny it, some would think about it only briefly before getting distracted by the next celebrity drama.
Stay friendly, they might be more then millions of years ahead of us...
& if that's the case, not a thing we could do to hurt them anyway!
I'd put up my thumb,I want off this ferigie world that turns on profitt
who says their world would be any different
@Selah613 Any race of beings able to travel vast space, surely would have a different civilization. Our problem is we have NASA,ESA,China,Russia,ect... If we worked under the UN banner for mankind as a whole,we should have been already transporting methane, from Saturn's moon.
That is a pretty large assumption, that we could find aliens. We've only gotten five things out of the solar system so far at immense cost and none of those are remotely close to anything else anything could live on, even after traveling through space since 1977. There's also a question of how detectable other species would be. Most species on earth haven't the insane urges humans have to destroy the planet they are living on through "progress", instead, they live in equilibrium with their environment, perhaps realizing they are already on a space ship. But if it did happen, one can be sure there would be an effort made to destroy the aliens in order for a few to make a profit. That's how we roll.
Steven Hawkins , I believe , said we're all made of star dust . We are the aliens .
“The surface of the Earth is the shore of the cosmic ocean. On this shore, we've learned most of what we know. Recently, we've waded a little way out, maybe ankle-deep, and the water seems inviting. Some part of our being knows this is where we came from. We long to return, and we can, because the cosmos is also within us. We're made of star stuff. We are a way for the cosmos to know itself.”
― Carl Sagan, Cosmos
Yeah, probably act like spoiled two four year olds and act the fool
Kill em, shag em n eat em.We have form...where are all the neanderthals?
We would first bomb them then rebuild their cities and try to build a nation state like ours and fail.
LOL, but true.
