A Ugandan cabinet minister is to spend Easter in jail after being charged over a scandal involving the theft of thousands of metal roofing sheets.
They were intended for vulnerable communities in the north-eastern Karamoja region.
Mary Goretti Kitutu Kimono, the minister for the region, pleaded not guilty in court but was denied bail.
At least 10 other senior government figures are alleged to have received some of the stolen corrugated iron.
These include the vice-president, the prime minister, the parliamentary Speaker and other ministers, according to the inspector general of government.

Does politics breed corruption and crime? Or is it the major attractant for Mafia and organised crime??
In Australia the biggest crime syndicate is the L.N.P Liberal National Party who routinely perform and legislate unspeakable crimes but cannot be held accountable because they are or have been members of Parliament.

Value is in the eye of the beholder. Yes, I have no use for iron sheets but someone does and that gives them value. It certainly isn't glamorous.

I can't understand why gold is considered so valuable.
There are tons of the stuff just sitting in storage not
being used for anything useful.
