Do better; send him Atheist quotes.

I get this, and if you're locked into it, via con dios, amigo. I would offer something a little different instead...

Because I predict that shooting back "fail verses" will lead to a fight and/or earnest engagement over interpretation and "leaning on God" for understanding--thus prolonging the conversation--I would suggest instead replying with quotes from the scriptures of other religions that agree with and corroborate the Bible verses--to show (effectively, without having to say it) that Christianity does not, in fact, offer any special or unique insights that cannot be found elsewhere. Bonus points for those non-Christian quotes that even more clearly express or fully develop the concepts in question--e.g. "'Love your neighbor as yourself'? Well, the Buddha encouraged us to 'love the entire world as a mother loves her only child.' I find that to be a much more potent metaphor.". You could always go the fraud route: there are parallel parables and legends all over the ancient world. Everyone stole stories from everyone else.

This may not make your friend as frustrated or angry, but I suspect that it may lead to a more thorough feeling of futility re: sending you quotes, stronger dissatisfaction, and a quicker end to the practice. It may even send a tremor through the foundations of their faith!

Then again, it might just stimulate even more debate. Hard to say.

Thanks man! That makes sense.

good idea

@iamsuprem0 The evilist, most ingenius "evil genius" is that which looks the least like evil genius. 😉

Problem solved:

There's a site somewhere called evil bible, citing all the nastiness that manual of abuse has.
. But if they're that persistent I'd seriously question the friendship as it displays utter disrespect for you.

Sadly this probably won't work the way you see it working... seems like more very religious people will find a way to reconcile contradictions or bullshit

Psalm 137: "Happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us / He who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks."

You are lucky. I wish i had someone doing this for me. I have not, nor will, waste what little life-time i have, reading any of those types of fables.

Change the words and send them the corrected version.

My boss sends me jesus GIFS and says she'll pray for me. I send her atheist memes and I tell her she needs to get laid and have a threesome. My other boss said to get the other boss a Ouija board. She went a litlte jesus GIF crazy with 5 GIFS in a row. They torture me with jesus. I called one boss a jesus freak. Lol. All in good fun.

As for your friend, ask her nicely to discontinue sending those verses.

There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses. So you longed for the lewdness of your youth, when in Egypt your bosom was caressed and your young breasts fondled. (Ezekiel 23:20–21)

Send him the video for "take me to church" by hoozier.

Just went and watched it... I agree, send them that link in every response.

A great song!

If you google it, you can find 14 mentions of unicorns in the Bible. Will this help?

One of my favorites. It's a doozy: 2 Kings 2:23-24

Good one!

If somebody is doing something that is bothering you, do something to bother them. That always fixes the situation, right?

Jeremiah 19:9 combined with Lamentations 4:10

Here's a short YouTube that I created, which provides some context:

2

Send him some Harry Potter quotes

2

Tell him to stop.

2

What's your goal with this person?

If it's just to get them to stop I think I would start there with "Please stop sending me Bible quote, I am a non believer and I don't want to get into a argument with you. I value our friendship but if this continues it could really effect our relationship.

If it's to try and change their mind, I think you have little chance of accomplishment. Faith is easy you just do as you are told, no thought required.

If it's to alienate your friendship and to enter, what seems to me, a stressful situation. Then use a question strategy. Adam and Eve had how many son? Who did the sons have children with? How big was Noah's ark? Do you think all the animals in the world would fit in that space? By making them answe, you increase the chance of them coming to the conclusion we have all came to, but I wouldn't hold out much hope.
Happy hunting

Do it! That would be brilliant. Find some of the most vile, illogical, cruel shit in there--and as you know there is SO much of it to choose from--and fire away. And please share them with us too!

The REAL Truth About Religion And Its Origins

1

I am always delighted to send believers to [whywontgodhealamputees.com] with the invitation to discuss any of the questions asked there. They tend to avoid the questions altogether and any future religious discussions with me. Most believers have severe cognitive dissonance and it's for them to step out of their ingrained beliefs and think for themselves at even a minimal intellectual level.

Of course you could just unfriend them or share contrary posts with them. Perhaps the Good News about the Flying Spaghetti Monster! [venganza.org]

I have many evangelical relatives. Actually, I only know one, for sure, that isn't. The great thing is that they have unfriended me because of my FB postings about our current government (He isn't my president). Some great suggestions here though about responding with biblical quotes. And, just remind them that Jesus was a jew and what he preached was the Old testament, something they rarely assess. And, if I was going to worship anyone, Martin Luther king Jr would be my savior.

There's no need for a passive-aggressive response. I would tell them that I knew they meant well but that I found it inappropriate and would appreciate it if they would stop.

or....
ask him/her for their take on these tenets that your new order has been pushing on you and you happen to agree with:

One should strive to act with compassion and empathy towards all creatures in accordance with reason.
The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.
One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.
The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.
Beliefs should conform to our best scientific understanding of the world. We should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit our beliefs.
People are fallible. If we make a mistake, we should do our best to rectify it and remediate any harm that may have been caused.
Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

Send him a few bible verses, just to satisfy. Then unfriend.

Tell him that you have joined Satanist cult and now you follow Satan!
