The Youtube channel The Line -the one with Matt Dillahunty- is currently my primary source for theist/religion topics. One of their shows occasionally features Forrest Valkai and Gutsick Gibbon debate less then informed anti-science callers, LOL funny and tragic at the same time. A channel worthy of subscribing.

In this clip, starting 1 hour in, a theist called in to discuss her doubting her faith. Their interactions remind me how many people are somewhat trapped by the tentacles of religion. I have run into a few who had similar experiences.

I wonder how many on this site had to sacrifice social and economic connections as a cost of replacing faith for reality?

These guys (the hosts of the show) are expert questioners. Any theist who goes up against them is bound to lose. I only wish they would maintain a civil tone, even though their theist callers may not deserve it. Dropping the F bomb does not well represent the cause of rational discourse.

agreed, i can almost sense when Matt is about to flare up and let loose on the caller. It becomes less about the content of the message and how it's delivered

Time began with the big bang in the past? No, time began when mankind invented time.

Not sure you are serious or are being sarcastic as I find the assertion "time began when mankind invented time" a nonsensical face-palm assertion.

i.e. by your argument, there was no progression of time before man was around? LOL

When I researched your "mankind invented time" assertion I find Christian apologetics that use this argument to support a supernatural sky daddy foundation to reality.

I find the assertion "mankind invented time" holds equal merit to "the earth is flat" as both assertions disregard observable traits of reality to support a flawd biblical interpretation of reality.

Decades ago I read - then gave the book to one of my students- A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking A great book that gives the reader better understanding of the physics of time.

Here is a quick read that addresses the concept of time in the context to the argument you failed to recognize.

Hope you spend the time and have the ability to understand how laughable I find your assertion.

Again, if you were being sarcastic, I am sorry I missed the sarcasm.
For clarity, I have found - so people don't think your sharp sarcasm is a just a stupid assertion - it necessary to include "SARCASM ALERT" before posting such nonsense.

I have watched M. D. in the past, but while his knowledge may be great, I find him too aggressively confrontational, and often pure rude, in style. Which I do not think adds greatly to the conversations about religion.

For the majority of those he interacts with, M.D. has softened his edge. There are a few -insert expletives here- such as Danien Haqiqatjoi, where M.D. delivers a sharp edge of reality to dress down those in need of exposure.
