Well, the much vaunted Ukrainian summer offensive went pretty much the way anyone who knew any military history thought it would. One has to wonder if the Biden administration believed in their fairy tale, or was the offensive just a cynical exercise in prolonging the war? And what now?
Volodymyr Zelensky, Between a Rock and a Hard Place: [original.antiwar.com]
The one prolonging the war is Putin not pulling his troops out...
@Druvius How is that fantasy? He could literally pull his troops out today and the war would be over.
@Druvius I didn't say anything was likely. I'm simply saying the one who could most quickly and easily end the war ought be most to blame for its continuance.
@Druvius You were the one whining about the war being prolonged. I was just pointing out that Putin, you know, that guy whose ass you're kissing, is the one ultimately responsible for how long the war is waged.
Honestly, I don't even know if I care. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll result in a thousand nukes being launched that ends the plague that is humanity.
@Druvius I don't give a shit about Raytheon making a profit. I don't give a shit about any company making a profit. And I don't want any countries to be at war, at all, at any time, it wastes money and makes rich assholes richer. That said, if a country does wage war, the answer for me is not "let that country conquer you to avoid war". That's just plain stupid. I hate biting my tongue, but I'm not going to pull out all my teeth to make sure it never happens again.
