If there are any people here who haven't heard about the Voynich Manuscript ... I would appreciate some feedback

Would do you derive from just the pictures or just some of the pictures?

If you could just look at the pictures and write down what you think before reading anything about this manuscript!!!

I found this article how 10 words relating to botany have been cracked.

There have been numerous claims that parts have been cracked. I was interested in what people had to say about the pictures. Thank you for your contribution.

I had never heard of this manuscript before. The pictures are mostly of amazing plants that I do not recognize. The change from plants to people who seem to be integrated with plants is interesting but I don't know what to make of it. Too bad a translation has not been made. I'm sure the text is even more interesting than the pictures.

A waste of time in my opinion.

I agree, could be rambling thoughts of a person high on weed thinking of different strains to make.

What isn't a waste of time? Looks more exciting than crossstiching to me.

I haven't seen or heard of this book before. The drawings seem to identify plants and some seemed to be combined so it makes me think they may be herbal remedies. There seems to be star charts and that make me think astrology. The pictures of the women may be to indicate their place in the family/community.

This book may have been the property of someone of importance in that era.

There exist claims that it once belonged to emperor Rudolf of Habsburg

@PontifexMarximus

That would qualify as someone of importance. 🙂

My first thought was that it was a book on botany, but as I clicked through I thought it might specifically be about splicing and grafting: a lot of the pictures seemed to show different plants growing from the same root.

Finally the plants started to look like fantasy drawings and I wondered if it was like those beastiaries from the middle ages where the author would insist that there were dog headed men and centaurs in Asia!

I had never heard of it before.
I looked through the pictures and saw the strange plants etc.
It reminded me of a project book of my mother's when she was a botany student.
The human figures seem to be displayed in a similar way to the plants and might have been depicting a theory of biological classification.
The text is indecipherable.

Thank you ... If you have some time to spare, look at the pictures and write down your own impressions!

I had never seen it before. At first it looks like a book about botany, or which plants are safe to eat, etc. But I don't recognize any of the plants, and some plants have a strange structure. As to the language, I can't find a trace of any of the few languages that I know. (For what it's worth, that's my feedback.)

Thank you ... If you have some time to spare, look at the pictures and write down your own impressions!
