My thermostat has been set at 65 for years. I have a window air conditioner for summer time when it gets too brutal.

I live alone so I get to decide. Though I like the temp to be on the cool side so right now my thermostat is on about 63 degree and as soon as I change out of my work clothes I'll be wearing sweat pants, a tshirt, and my house shoes.

63 degrees in winter with layers. Undershirt, turtle neck, overshirt, vest then another overshirt if needed. Summer? 68 degrees but seldom use the AC. I always feel guilty when the furnace goes on but I am happy that it does. 2,000K divided by 12= 166$ monthly average.

For me depends on the time. At night the bedroom is around 60-62. During the day the rest of the house is between 65-67. I have found it's not just the temp but the humidity. In the winter the house humidity is low which makes it feel colder. I bought a evaporative (low energy need) to add humidity to the air which makes a set temp feel warmer. Sort of the inverse of going to Arizona to be able to stand the hot temps.

When anyone messes with my thermostat that is serious business. Set at 70 degrees is not so hard to deal with.

So what are the two temperatures? I’ll always keep it cooler and if I feel chilly, put on sweater and have a hot beverage.

We have the same problem, with power prices rising rapidly like the spacex rocket screaming and heading out of the atmosphere. (cannot blame the rocket, it's arse is on fire ) The power company not so afflicted, for them it is just profit and greed.
Air-conditioning and food are luxuries fewer and fewer people can now afford.
