I remember when at University I took a sociology module as an option and the lecturer asked how many people in the cohort considered themselves feminists.
I have believed in equality of the sexes and genders all my life and so did not hesitate to raise my hand, but was surprised to discover I was the only one.
When asked why, most of the women in group in all seriousness stated they were not feminists, because they were not lesbians.
The other said feminism was no longer necessary as "women had enough rights now and anything else was just greed"
I have never been so gob-smacked since I discovered that there was a Jewish legion in the Wehrmacht during WW2.

I will never forget, participating in both Marches on Washington for abortion rights in DC, the full-of-vitriol hecklers were mostly women.
And some of them smeared/sprayed the interiors of every PortaPotty set up for the half-million marchers with feces, Thoroughly, so it dripped off the ceilings, even the handicapped/wheelchair-accessible ones.

And yet there are still many women who are glad to vote for Repubs, either because they are selfish greedheads who don't want to pay taxes, but can still easily afford for them or their daughters to get abortions, or else are Bible-thumpers who hate abortion and love supporting patriarchy..

Religion teaches children to disrespect themselves.
