I read this article and I can't even believe a mother could do that to her own child, she's a monster. Hope she rots in prison!

There's nothing anyone can do to this woman that will bring that innocent child back to life. I can't imagine the horror that poor baby felt. 😔

Unbelievable. She must have a screw loose. Hope she won't be having any more kids.

I've read of this a few different times now. It is very hard for me to believe this story. If it is true then we have a seriously demented mother who should be dealt with.

The family was aware of her health struggles and mental illness. Knowing she was caring for a young child, would it not have been reasonable to check-in on a regular basis to ensure all was well? A call every two or three days would have alerted them that something was not right and maybe would have saved that child's life.

I don't think she will fare well in prison. Not after the others find out what she did.

My heart breaks for the young life lost in such a horrendous way. 😢

Quite.

That was my first thought as well. It sounds like they not only knew of her mental illness but were aware that she had gone off her meds. I don't understand why some type of intervention or warning system wasn't in place when she had sole care of a 16-month old child.

@Lauren I agree. Someone should have been checking in regularly. The child deserved that much.

Terrible, just terrible.
