I would be a lot more on edge if Trumpty Dumpty wasn't being slowly ground to dust by the legal system.

Don't get me wrong, I am not at all complacent about election 2024. We still run a grave risk of descending into rank authoritarianism. But I do also see reasons for hope. All is not lost; at least not yet.
