Again the usual tRump ploy at trying to look like he cares when most know he cares for no one but himself. “Trump Videos at Arlington Stir More Fallout After Grave Site Visit.”
The family of a Green Beret who died by suicide after serving eight combat tours and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery expressed concern Wednesday that Donald Trump’s campaign had filmed his grave site without permission as Trump stood in an area where campaign photography isn’t allowed. A woman who works at the cemetery filed an incident report with the military authorities over the altercation. But the official, who has not been identified, later declined to press charges. Military officials said she feared Trump’s supporters pursuing retaliation. …filming and photographing at the grave site for political purposes is a violation of federal law, according to cemetery officials “However,” she added, “according to our conversation with Arlington National Cemetery, the Trump campaign staffers did not adhere to the rules that were set in place for this visit to Staff Sergeant Hoover’s grave site in Section 60, which lays directly next to my brother’s grave.” And this from a draft dodger who once called people who served in the military, “losers.”

Really? If he was charged his poll numbers just would have gone up more. Think Biden/ Harris are just pissed their hubris in not honouring this ceremony by not rocking up was bad optics ie Commander in Chief missing in action..........again.
You lack of respect for our honored dead in Arlington is Almost as crappy as drumps....why am I not surprised?
SHAME on you both!
@annewimsey500 If in command, I would not brag that no-one has been lost on my watch when people had been lost then fail to rock up to their memorial weeks later. I tend to not honour the dead so much as to the why they made the ultimate sacrifice in the first place.
It is my opinion they made that sacrifice so others may enjoy freedoms like the right to assemble and protest. The right to voice their opinion and not be censored.
So if you want to accuse others of dishonouring their memories and sacrifice, suggest you look towards those who want to lock up protesters they disagree with. Same with speech.
I would suggest to you that the current Commander in Chief on who was on watch when these people being honoured and remembered actually died didn't even bother to rock up shows far less respect that taking a photo in the wrong area by a former Commander in Chief who did bother to rock up.
I wonder what the dead soldier this article is about would have thought.
@puff you fail to undersand Biden et al knew Nothing about this "photo op" and would have rightly stopped it if they had.
Is there something wrong with you?
Arlington is NOTa photo op for anybody, never has been, never mind disrespectful manipulative users.
@annewimsey500 In Australia Capital cities have a cenotaph in which an eternal flame burns, a flame of remembrance. Our memorial day is ANZAC Day, 25th of April. There is a big ceremony at cenotaphs around the country that day where all the big nobs attend eg Generals, esteemed veterans and Politicians. The start of the ceremony is three diggers, the lowest rank, of each service ie Army/ Navy/ Airforce do a slow march to the cenotaph where they reverse arms and rest. People do speeches and then they snap to attention and normally march back out. Ceremony over.
In 1988 Brisbane had the world Expo. It was a freezing day with a heavy drizzle and the ceremony took two hours. Why do I remember so well? Because that day I stood with my peers from the Royal Australian Navy and the Royal Australian Air Force. I was the one chosen to represent the Royal Australian Army in Queensland. In summer uniform, we all shivered uncontrollably as our fronts were saturated and our back dry from the flame of remembrance. It is a very special day in Australia and I was honoured to have been chosen.
So please don't lecture me on this topic.
@puff so good for you, and now i Really want to know WHY exactly are you supporting having these important memorials used as photo ops for self-promotion exactly?
Seems like Serious cognitive dissonance....
@annewimsey500 Read my reply to the comment above. One of the reasons I was so angry during Covid and the coercion and suppression of information ie mandated "vaxs"in Australia, is it dishonoured all those who fought Nazi's. They did not make the ultimate sacrifice so our governments could take away consent for medical treatment. They fought to ensure they could no. It's what the Nuremburg trials were all about.
We don't regurgitate "Thank you for your service" in Australia. We say "Lest we Forget". This means less we forget the fallen, but also what they were fighting against in the first place. I haven't forgotten.
It's like "Never again". Many fuckwits think this pertains only to Jews which is totally wrong. It means Never again will the world stand idly by whilst a state carries out a genocide using the full force of it's military. The USA has forgotten that one no doubt and dishonour all those who helped defeat the Nazi's.
@Druvius I knoooooooww, apparently he thinks this was a legit thing honoring the dead and Biden didn't bother to show up......do we think he watches Newsmax or Fox, maybe? Because it is Such BS!!!!!!
@annewimsey500 He was invited. Where is your President anyway? Oh, busy developing laws so a President cannot hire and fire. [reuters.com]
But he's too old to face court for hoarding classified documents, but can introduce new laws. What a fucking joke your country has become.
That's honouring your dead.
@Druvius What did those people die for? To have a demented president, not running again, too old to face court but able to sign new laws? To allow Israel to slaughter the innocent? To support dictators who refuse to hold elections in Ukraine? To neglect border management? Yeah, that's respecting their sacrifice so the country keeps it's high moral standards.
And to top it off, watch a bunch of dickheads twist their hands in horror over a photograph of a grave that belonged to a veteran who committed suicide. Committed suicide as he was not looked after when he returned. That's the real affront to their honour.
What a croc of shit. I suspect many of those poor souls, if they could rise from the dead, would give many people a slap in the head. And the one's being directly honoured, would be thankful that at least one President rocked up in support of their families.
That's what I'm on about. The dead would not give a flying fuck about official pomp and ceremony they were too low to attend when alive. Not Aussie ones anyway. It's for their friends and family. Their children
@Druvius Bet you were all for coercing people to take experimental medicines too. Deplatforming people. And if you were not, that this bollocks upsets you more than what I just mentioned.
I'm more concerned with 40,000+ dead in Gaza than this bollocks. Your country enables genocide now so their sacrifices were for naught.
We honour/ remember our dead in different ways it seems. I'm just saying allowing AIPAC to take over your country to enable genocide is not honouring their sacrifice.
You stated you had no idea what I was on about above. So I explained. Then you accuse of mansplaining. Now, considering we are both men, this means one of two things.
