Why would a white woman in Oakland,CA, waste the time of the 911 emergency ops over a non-life and death situation(black man using a grill in a city park to bbq)? I thought 911 is used for life-and-death situations only!

There have been a disturbing number of situations like this in the news recently - white people calling police because the presence of brown people made them uncomfortable. Situations where the police never would’ve been called if they had involved white people - For grilling, golfing, touring a college campus. It is really appalling.

I saw that video and the woman has to have problems and be disturbed. People disagreed with her during the call but she was insistent. At the end when the cops were there and had her off to the side she appeared to be coming apart as the video ended. It was like "this didn't go my way like I wanted it to so now I'm gonna cry."
This is racism, plain and simple. My take on it all is that people had a "secret fear" of Obama. That in itself was (and is) racism. With 8 years of Obama many poor whites felt disenfranchised in some way. Trump comes along and makes these poor whites feel good again and they are better than any black person. White supremacists and racists are at the bottom of his support base.
In the case of this white woman she feels insecure so she makes the 911 call about a black family grilling with a gas grill in the park. Nobody bought her nonsense but they had to investigate. Now I'm back to the end of the video when the cops had her pulled to the side and she starts to come apart. "This didn't go my way like I wanted it to so now I'm gonna cry."
Oh, the poor baby! Shut her up or lock her up.

I'm a black man who just happens on some Sunday mornings to be walking down Morewood Avenue towards First Unitarian Universalist Church of Pittsburgh in Shadyside and the thought of a crazy white lady summoning police through 911 scares me!
Very thoughtful insights on the Obama/Trump racism we are seeing so much of these days, sadly.
Theory 1: Black people grilling in the park created cognitive dissonance for her. "All black people are drug dealers and rapists, but, but ... I see with my own eyes ... a peaceable black family grilling in the park ... does not compute!, does not compute! ... HOW DARE THEY!" furiously dials 911
Theory 2: She's a racist bitch and this is just SOP for her. Doubt she expected to go viral.

You could be correct.
You have got to be kidding me. I keep hearing about these kinds of incidents through many various sources, and it just dumbfounds me. I see video recordings on YouTube and I can hardly believe my eyes that this sort of thing is still happenijng in 2018. WTF is the matter with these people that they continue to treat other humans like that?

Because if you are black person doing anything in the US, there is a chance some white lady will call the (white supremacist) police, who are itching for a chance to choke-hold, injure, or shoot them.

Sadly, 911 is called for all sorts of bizarre reasons - just Google it. My daughter and I had a screaming woman threaten to call the police on us one evening some years ago. We were walking through the alley on our way home from the store. We told her to go ahead, we'd happily wait for the police to show up. We imagined her calling 911 and saying something like, "There's a woman and child eating ice cream in the alley - make them stop!" Some peopleare seriously nervous wrecks!
