My favourite photo from my Australia trip. The setting - "the church blocks out the sun" (Stephen Spender, English poet of the 30s). The evangelicals, with the ladies in pretty dresses, the men in shirts and ties, and their sign "Is the bible still relevant today?" The lesbian couple striding past, smiling, happy, carefree, unconcerned and unimpressed.. The religiots like zombies with their fake smiles, and fantasy world. Sums it all up pretty well I think.
They seem to be trying to look very pious while everyone ignores them.
I wonder if there's a law in Australia that means they can stand there, but not talk. That would be great.
