Does anyone else talk aloud to themselves? I do and when my wife asks who I'm talking to I tell her I'm having the most intelligent conversation I've had all day
We used to have a roofer that came in after we were done framing, name Pete, who worked alone. The contractor said, When Pete starts talking to himself loudly, you better watch out, because he was flashing back to 'Nam. The only thing was, Pete had never been in the service at all, much less in Vietnam.
I talk to the cats, which is about the same thing. I had a horrible cold a few weeks ago, I had to talk out loud so I could figure out if I had a voice and if I should go to work. I spend a lot of time on the phone, if I can't talk there is no sense in going to work.
Before I retired I worked alone trouble shooting electrical problems on Commercial Air Conditioning, people would stop and think I was talking to them. I was just approaching the equipment on a quantum level to understand what is wrong by asking it. Well that's what I told them. hahahah
All the time. Sometimes I think it's a loneliness thing, but I also find it useful to listen to my own arguments and thought processes when stated out loud. Reasoning aloud seems to make use of different circuits in the brain compared to just thinking. That's my guess anyway.
