EDIT: There's a distinct possibility that this is a misrepresentation. See the comments of @JustKip and @MissTuffy below. I was unaware that losing teams frequently do wear bags over their heads, that the winning team was not comprised entirely of blacks, and that there is zero concrete evidence at this point that the athletes were being racist. I was going to remove the entire post but I'll leave it up to serve as a reminder that a cursory search simply to see if it happened is not due diligence. My apologies.

ProudMerry I am glad you can see both sides of the issue. Without actually asking the team their true intent behind the bags we shall never really know. IF you have ever watched some of the old old cartoons and tv shows you will see the paperbags in use to "hide from embarrassment"

I've never followed sports.

How about they were embarrassed about losing the tourney, wanted to put bags over their heads out of shame, their lunches came in white bags, it's all they had to work with... Do you people spend time trying to see racism in any and everything you see all day long?

@ProudMerry Hey... very well done.. Awesome to see you have a well placed sense of responsibility to be intellectually honest. Kudos.

Yes, nothing much has changed, but then what do you expect. Hate is not something we are born with it is something we learn from our parents.

I’m going to hope this was just a stupid, insensitive, poorly thought out joke...

Idiots going back in time and using hate as a tool

They think they're being funny, I'm sure. But it's disgusting.

Are those paperbags on their heads??? Paperbags on the head denotes embarrassment not anger.

OMFG!! This is so amazingly white stupid I am speechless. Yep in Georgia this makes sense.

I agree with JustKip, your statement is very racist. Paper bags on the head are worn to denote embarrassment, those are not white pillowcases. That said please a im your anger ( as we all should) at the true racists of the real KKK whose fashion sense is truly offensive and can be mistaken for nothing else.

@misstuffy I may have jumped to the incorrect conclusion, thing is everything I've read about the bag on head embarrassment stance uses brown paper bags. Never found one image with a white bag. Just sayin'

@silverotter11 It is my understanding their lunches came in white paper bags so it's all they happened to have on hand.
