"Most Secret War" written by Dr. R.F Jones...a major player at Britains "Bletchley Park" intelligence centre in WW II. Very interesting.

12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos by Jordan Peterson. So far, not too impressed.

Just finished the first book of the "Old Man's War" series, by John Scalzi. He's as good as Robert A. Heinlein, if not better. I reread my favorite book series on Kindle every 8 months or so, including this one.

I'm concurrently reading, and just completing (again) "Bumbling into Body Hair," a hilarious autobiography of a lesbian to male's journey into manhood.

What's so weird is that the moment she committed to transitioning and taking testosterone, she got a work promotion, was recruited to a government job for three times her current salary, and got a beautiful girlfriend, who she married.

Because she was perceived as a normal married man, her comment was "Wow..white (cis hetero) male privilege is TRUE.."

When I read "Old Man's War", ten years ago, I saw the comparison to Heinlein and that would have been good enough, but I am convinced he is better.
If you have read it, you need to read "Redshirts" Imagine how the crew on Star Trek felt about going on missions with J T Kirk.

@GeorgeRocheleau Yeah, I often think John Scalzi is better than Heinlein, but they are equally good writers- able to draw the reader completely into their universes. However, Heinlein was from a different era, so one has to ignore some flawed science and incest fantasies.

Still, John Scalzi pays him tribute in the back of his novels. What book is called "Redshirts?" Those were the supposedly expendable security personnel routinely killed by random aliens during the original Star Trek series, and spoofed so well in "Galaxy Quest."

@GeorgeRocheleau Ah! Thanks.
Now that I think of it, I did google all of his books before, but this one is only available in audio on Kindle.

I read it on my Nook. It won a Hugo, so it should still be available.

@GeorgeRocheleau Ah! It costs almost $10. Right now, after not working for over a year, and paying out of my pocket since I got cancer, I'll wait until someone gives me another Amazon gift card, lol!
But thanks for the heads up.

Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman

Currently, "A Home At The End Of The World" by Michael Cunningham. Will finish it later today.

Next book will be "Call Me By Your Name" by Andre Aciman.

Tig Notaro's "I'm just a person". Funny, and sad.

Plowing through Ted Kaczynski 's 'manifesto' again.
Kinda warped, sorta weird, oddly on point in spots.
