I'd never given it any thought until I read your post.
Once I did, I realized that I've got music playing in my head whenever I'm not
focusing intently on something else.

Earworms are pretty common. What annoys me is when I have a song in my head with lyrics that I can't completely remember and I'm in no position to look it up at that moment. ?

Yup, me too — constantly. Sometimes something recognisable, sometimes just a looping bass line. But what comes with that is the occasional earworm that sits in my head for a couple of weeks... Every... Waking... Moment... It kicks off the instant I wake up and goes around and around until I'm friggin' exhausted.

Most recent was Everlong by Foo Fighters, so not all bad.

Constantly! It is either something l am listening to or something we are playing and l am trying to figure out what l want to do in the song. It has been that way for over 45 years, it never stops! PLEASE MAKE IT STOP! ?

Yes, I always have something going round and round in my head, usually the last thing on my car radio, or if I heard a phrase that reminds me of the lyrics of a particular song. I'm often tapping my feet to something, yet there is no music, and that's usually when I'm aware of this song in my brain. But only when I'm totally alone or far away from anyone on a walk or bike ride will I hum or whistle along to the song on my mind.

I always have a song in my head. Even when I'm concentrating deeply, if I just relax a bit there's a song there. A good deal of the time it's a song I don't necessarily care for, but I really don't have much control over what song plays in my head!!

At least 50% of the time. The worst was the 'I Love You' Barney song from when my kids were younger.

24/7. I always have two songs stuck in my head at any given time. One is always that weird bubbly music from the vine of the seal spinning in circles, the other is whatever song happens to be stuck in my head

I’d say probably about 70% of the time. The music varies throughout the day. I’m not the kind to get stuck on one song.

I do that quite often thru out the day. Sometimes random ones, or I'll hear a tune, and it gets stuck there all day. Music eases the chaos in my mind.
I've had Subdivisions by Rush in my head all day today.... Lol

All the time, different songs, maybe one I just heard, or one pops into my head, I'm always 'drumming' on my desk (a colleague even bought a pair of pencil drumsticks )

I’m the same; there’s a soundtrack in my head. It varies from day to day, but it’s been there for a long time!

It rings up there a good amount of the time. Keeps me sane

As a beginner, or maybe beginner-intermediate, blues guitar player, I have songs running through my head ALL day!

I rarely have a song playing in my head, but probably because my job requires a lot of focus and I'm always doing something different or new. My morning routine is very repetitive, and that's usually when there's a tune going through my head

The last few mornings I've woken up to my mind replaying the on-hold music I was forced to listen to whilst I was on a call a few days ago.

As a musician and energetic optimist, I find myself humming and singing. Can't help it. It amuses me.

Thank goodness, I never experience an annoying "ear worm."
