It’s in their imagination. Xtians are delusional!

I just remembered seeing an article about Australian politics. It seems that our governing party is being targeted by the Christian fundamentalists over here too.
I think its the last desperate attempt to stop being swallowed up by the tide of scientific knowledge, as the old generation dies out.

Frankly, they're being told that by their pastors and fellow evangelicals. You know, repeat a lie often enough and it becomes a truth. Most Christians don't really study the bible and tend to repeat whatever they hear. Most of our founders were deists and were not "christians" the way the evangelicals would lead us to believe. If they were being honest, the Christians would say that we were found on Jewish values. Some of them skirt this by using the term Judeo-Christian.

I agree. The lack of knowledge/education about their own religious history is appalling. Even worse is the lack of curiosity about it, and the blind acceptance of whatever their leaders spoon-feed to them.

History whitewashing.
More like it was founded on invasion and genocide.

I'd really like to know the answer to that as well. There's a lot of idiots here but we don't call it idiot nation

A false impression given by our heavily edited school textbooks.

Its always the same - fundamentalist Christians take over anyplace they land - Plymouth Rock ( yeah I can't remember the actual place the Pilgrims landed), the East India company took over Asia, British Church of England took over Australia & New Zealand, Cortez Catholics took over South America, Catholic Christianity took over Rome, then Europe, Scandanavia,

Its the "dominion over all things" in Genesis that authorises them.

I wrote a book concerning this very topic. "A Christian Nation? An examination of Christian nation theories and proofs." (https://www.amazon.com/Christian-Nation-examination-theories-proofs/dp/0615545777/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1527990611&sr=1-1&keywords=rosman+Christian+Nation)

Most of the delusions come from misreading the early documents of this nation. Not the Declaration or Constitution, but the Mayflower Compact and alike. They also believe that a nation cannot achieve greatness (i.e.: the US of A) without the intervention of God. Both are wrong and I show that. Finally, most of the Founding Fathers were Christians and some wanted to make Christianity the national religion. Fortunately, they selected a Humanist agnostic to write the Declaration and a believer in the separation of church and state to write the Constitution.

They probably don't fact check the fake news coming from their pulpit on Sunday.
