I apparently am not able to do polls yet. Or at least haven’t figured out how to. So I’m curious about how many atheist consider themselves liberals, progressive, libertarians conservatives, democratic socialist, socialists, communists or independents?

If there is one thing I hate, it's political labels. No disrepect to you or your question but I'm kind of a little of everything. On paper I'm Democrat, but when it comes down to how I vote or what I stand up for, I just follow my heart and common sense.

I'm a Progressive, somewhere between Democratic Socialist and Anarchist. I test to the Left of Bernie Sanders.

I wrote Bernie in, for what it was worth.

@Reignmond, I just ended up voting for Jill Stein. Might as well at least TRY to get a 3rd party on the ballot.

Libertarian. Minimum government, maximum freedom. Your right to take a swing at me ends at the tip of my nose. Legalize freedom! Live your life as you choose, so long as you do not forcibly interfere with my right to same.

Oh, and of course, taxation is theft.

what a bleak world you live in

@markdevenish how so?

Are you going to build you're own highways, bridges, and sewers? If you don't have systems in place including regulations, what will stop another depression. You seem to think big business will not fuck you in a heartbeat. What about the poor? You can't have Capitalism and not have poor people. The more poor people, the more you drag society down. If you like the idea go to Mexico and check it out. With the wage gap we have that is where we are headed We will have a few rich people, a very small middle class, and a huge class of low income and poor people. You can't have a small government in a country over 350,000 people. More efficient yes, small no.

350 Million ...OPPS!

I am [relatively] progressive socially and [relatively] conservative fiscally. From a party perspective I am independent because there's too much bullshit on both extremes. But these days I certainly tend to vote left because my conscience won't let me do otherwise.

I'm still registered Rebublican, since I didn't "wake up" until after moving to Thailand in 2010. But I now see myself as a Democratic Socialist, and wanted Bernie to win last election.

Still a democratic socialist

I'm an atheist and I consider myself progressive.

Libertarian/border line anarchist. I wish liberals and conservatives would stop tearing each other apart, it's so anti productive. Why can't all those people use some common sence and find some middle ground?

I am an Independent [real] Progressive (as opposed to those Democrats that say they are progressive). I have in the past voted for both Conservatives and Liberals depending on the issues at stake and who had the better ideas. Lately, I find I can not vote for any Republican. I actually reject all Political Parties as they are a source of division and corruption.

Registered Independent. Moderate centrist.

I am that I am. If that was good enough for Yahweh, it is good enough for me.

And Popeye too!

I'm actually a conservative but find that Conservative politics has moved so far to the right (Vale Mal Frazer) that I'm now classed as deep left. The memory of Thatcher's social experimentation will not fade. Hayek's notions go against most Burkean principles and should be rejected by conservatives. Hayek is for Tories, which makes the worship of saint Ronnie Reagan all the more ironic.

Socialist - Labour Party member .

I am and always have been a progressive liberal for the last 50 years . Note I also served as a republican in local office but learned my lesson.

I m in England staunch lifelong Labour Supporter (Socialist)

I am a progressive democratic socialist. None of the current political parties align very well.

Democrats are less problematic as a rule. The current crop far-right GOP (anyone still standing with Trump) are a giant danger to the nation.

I like my politicians to be literate in science, have respect for evidence and truth, and not be gullible. There are too many fails of this type all over.

1

Progressive, Bernie Sanders fan, labels are tough, so, in brief, I know what I'm not: not with the right wing nor with the left wing.

(Right now? Keeping an eye on Pennsylvania special election and rooting for Lamb the youthful Democrat. The youth are our future and they are energized! It's AMAZING!)

socialist but I'm living on the wrong continent

The political terminology of choices you have listed above are exactly what they are. Terms invented by Politicians who have absolutely no idea about what they are saying or have any intention of ever doing what they tell you. How does "Do the Right Thing" Party of choice fit in for being an Agnostic.
