Sadly, this can’t be laid at Trump’s doorstep. Both assailants and the target were people of color, but different colors. Black vs. brown tension and violence is a fact of life in the Southwest, and has been for generations. However, it is tolerated, even systemically encouraged, by communities all too happy to see this happen to others.
