Sadly, similar things have happened elsewhere in evangelical church groups.

There is an incredible power imbalance between pastors and their congregation. the pressure to conform and not disturb the structure becomes cruelty. Congregations outsource their spiritual development to another person and it shakes them up when they find that their pastor has not better handle than they do.

Horrendous Assholes should be drawn and quartered slowly

Any decent woman would insist such an apology isn't necessary and would refuse it.

These stories are so very disturbing and show how religion does in fact require faith, especially for us non believers.

When we hear this kind of thing, we need a whole lot of faith not to give up on the human race.
