I went to High School with, and occasionally see, John Stamos. Don Knotts was my 4th cousin. Elliot Gould at the Renaissance Fair, and the Porn Actor Peter North (Alden Brown) is a friend. Talked to Henry Winkler on a flight. Met Ted Danson and Sidney Portier at Carry Fisher's One person show at the Geffen. I had breakfast with Richard Dawkins at the 2009 Atheist Convention in Burbank. And met Bill Nye the Science Guy at Caltec during lectures by Dawkins and Sam Harris.
And in the 1980's I smoked a joint with and listened to Trevor Rabin of YES play acoustic guitar with my boss at the time at a restaurant after hours.
Oh, and met Wayne Gretzky and Madonna in an elevator at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in 2000.

I ran into Jonny Knoxville in an elevator at Cedars-Sinai, I guess famous people have medical needs as well, lol.He was trying really hard not to make eye contact.

Huey Lewis literally ran into me while I was trying to exit an elevator once. He sorta spun me around and said "Oops, sorry!" Meanwhile I was in awe..hahaha

Living in the LA area, I've seen quite a few, but I never approach them as I don't want to bother them. I've only talked at any length to one because she started the conversation: Jamie Lee Curtis at a "Spinal Tap" concert. She was very nice and down-to-earth! As for atheists/agnostics, I got to meet Richard Dawkins when he spoke at my University in grad school, and Daniel Dennett at a lecture... oh, and James Randi!

This is when Dakota and I met Scott Ian, Dan Spitz, and Charlie Benante.

Mike Patton , Mr. T, Bill Mosely

When did you meet Patton?

@NothinnXpreVails He's been on tour here with several of the bands he's in. I met him twice in Chapel Hill NC at Cats Cradle when he came with Bungle and tomahawk. Nice, down to earth guy

@Missymaebee very cool

Me with Glenn Danzig, Simon Bisley, London May, Steve Zing, Brandon Strate, Acey Slade

I've met more than a few but have the best memories of meeting Dr. Jane Goodall...not just once, but THREE TIMES! She's like a rock star--people GASP when they see her!

oh my golly! she is my hero! ever since i was a tiny human my mom says i would sit and watch anything with her, i would give almost anything just to sit and chat for a day with her

You'll like this, Byrd...she came to a Roots & Shoots conference I attended and she was wonderful! She insisted that the press should leave and then, she spoke with each and every little Girl Scout who had submitted a project! Her priorities were the girls...NOT making an impression on the media!

John Elway, former Broncos quarterback. We saw him in Idaho and he graciously took a picture with my daughter.

5

Probably Danny Trejo or Sebastian McCoy at local comicons. Both were fantastic friendly people.

danny is another one i would love to be able to chat with. i love his work and once i found out he was an animal advocate, ii just thought he was even more epic!

Ooo - this is a fun questions!
Let's see... I guess I've met a few famous people, but it depends on your definition of famous...
I've met a bunch of folks from the show Supernatural.
(not sure you want the full list for these...)
I've met a bunch of Captains & crew from the show Deadliest Catch.
Met a few of the guys from Sons of Anarchy.
Went to a movie with our Prime Minister - Stephen Harper (and his entourage)
Most recently Roberta Bonder. (Astronaut)
Have pictures (and or autographs) with most of these folks.
I guess I've met a few locally famous folks too - went to school with some of them - freaks me out a bit when they pop up on the TV screen - almost ruins the 'mood'. Hey, I know that guy... There may be more, but that's all I can think of right now.

Did you meet any of the Camera Crew? I have friend, Jamie Holland that films the show.

@GrassBlade I would ask Camera Crew from what show, I'm guessing Deadliest Catch... and I don't remember meeting a Jamie Holland.
But also, I don't think I've met any camera guys.

Tommy Lee Jones on the set of "The Fugitive".

Interviewed Hillary Clinton in 1992. Have met now Energy Sec. Rick Perry. Anne Richards. Ted Neeley (jesus in JCS, the movie). Gary Hart. Several U.S. Reps. Hmmmm. I think that's it.

Gary Hart pre or post scandal?

@Ohioexpastor Hmmmm. I know it was 1984, but I don't remember when the Donna Rice stuff broke. He was still in the race. Had to be the spring.

Edward Teller. My step-dad studied and worked with him, for a time. We were invited to a dinner in Dr. Teller's honor many years later.
It felt like a tremendous honor and privilege to speak with a man my wonderful step-dad admired so greatly. I was just a kid, but was sat right next to him. We discussed heaven knows what, but even at that age it felt a little like my random kid thoughts were wasting his time. Though he was very nice and did nothing to make me feel that way.

Wow, what an explosive character to meet!

Oh, Danny Carey from Tool. I saw his band Volto! play a small show in Los Angeles at the Baked Potato. He offered me some of his recreational herb of choice that night, but I don't partake. Later, I peed after him in a urinal. He didn't flush, so my pee bubbles mingled with his. I mentioned it later and he thought it was very weird, but pretty funny.

1

Princess Anne when she visited our factory after we were awarded the Queens Award for Export .
Don't class it as a big meet though .

Tony LaRussa (Oakland A's) - bumped in to him at the Oakland Ballet. I think it was an ARF charity event. Phil Keaggy (instrumental and Christian guitarist/song-writer) - met him after a two different shows. I was buddies with an ex-road manager of his, thus the invites. He's a genuinely nice, humble guy. One of the greatest guitarists in the world too. Hopefully he'll get free of religion some day and write some songs I can get in to lyrically! Gary Sinise (Lt. Dan from Forest Gump) - met him at a USO meet and greet for troops in the Middle East. He sincerely loves troops and devotes a LOT of his time to morale. That's all that comes to mind.

6

George Clooney. He bumped into me in the Hilton by the airport in St. Louis. He was there filming the movie "Up in the Air." He is a very polite man.

I've run into him too! Years ago at a bar in New Orleans. I lived there. I was right next to him and paid no attention. He was out to have some low key fun.

I was almost going to say I've met zero famous people. But that's not true.

Bill Kurtis - American journalist and crime documentary host - came to my lab once with his film crew. He needed a laboratory to film a part of his Cold Case Files episode on Cold Case Files - the one about the Zodiac Killer. Having been in forensics myself in DNA analysis in my previous job, of course I found this to be quite exciting.

He was there for better part of the day and we got to talk to him before and after. It was really cool.

The footage ended up being maybe a minute long. He was reading a new letter that had been recently discovered.

5

Cesar Romero (while he was still playing the Joker on the Batman series-I was little).
Cheech Marin (riding an escalator together at the Las Vegas Airport).
Had brief conversations with both.
There have been others, but those are the two that I remember best.

6

Before he was famous I met Jay Leno. I was 21, a college student in NH and he was a college student at Emerson College. He was playing comic at strip clubs in Boston near the old Playboy Club in the combat zone. In between the entertainers with snakes and another with fire he would try telling jokes. He was tall and skinny then with a very prominent chin. I thought he was weird so when he asked me out to dinner I said no.

My Mom turned down Weird Al Yankovich for a date years ago. When she told my brother and me later we were like, "MOM!!!" Weird Al could have been my step-dad! Fortunately, we lucked out with a wonderful step-dad later on, but still!

6

I played lier's poker with Bill Murray in Nashville in 1980.

2

Rob Zombie and Korn

4

I met Ingrid Bergman when I was about 14. I knew she was a famous actress, but didn't really know much about her until later.

This past September, I rode an elevator with Graham Nash and Shane Fontayne. It was quite a thrill for me. I held the door for them, and Graham said, "Thank you, ma'am." They were so nice. I'm sure I was acting like a bubbly little school girl, but couldn't help it. 🙂

2
